“Ummm…”. I can’t think. But I can’t ask him in. I’m not strong enough to kick him out again. I shake my head and he frowns.

“Why not?”

“Her,” I force out through my frozen lips and he groans and pushes his hands through his hair.

“Not an issue,” he growls under his breath and shoves the door wide open, pushing me gently out of the way to shut the door.

It feels like all the air is sucked out of the room and yet it feels like I can finally breathe again. His scent, that glorious scent that is fully him drifts past my nose as he stalks up to me and his big hands catch my shoulders. I gasp and fight the need that wells up like a wild thing inside me.

“You can’t be here, Leon,” I whisper, my voice a treacherous, breathless sound.

“She was lying to you, sweetheart. I am not with Lydia. I haven’t seen her in ages and I have no idea why she pulled that stunt right now. Just a coincidence maybe. Or maybe someone mentioned that I finally found someone that makes me happy and she just couldn’t stand it. I don’t know.” He leans down and I hold my breath as he whispers in my ear, shivers dancing down my spine. “All I know is that the only thing I want is you. The only woman I need is right here with me and I can’t let you go, Sarah. I thought I could let you go be free and live out all those wild fantasies that you’ve been keeping locked up inside your prison since you were with him,” his voice is tight and controlled, almost angry, “but I can’t. I can’t let you go and if you do, I’m going with you. I need you, baby girl. I need you so damn bad that it hurts.”

“I need you too,” I whisper brokenly. “But what if I make you mad with all my little quirks and things I do. With all my fears and memories.”

He yanks me around and my hair flies into my face, blinding me, but I can hear the fury in his voice and I should be terrified. I know where that leads with men.

But I’m not. A strange calm settles over me. I will always trust this man.

“I am not your husband, pua.” My clit throbs at the passion and anger in his voice. Fuck! Why does that turn me on? “Do I think you’ll never make me mad and we’ll never fight? Hell no! But I damn sure know that I would never hurt you.” The truth is in his words, in his gorgeous ice-blue eyes when he stares at me like I’m a goddess. An angel sent from the heavens. “I can’t live without you, baby.” He takes a deep, heavy breath. “So if you need to leave this island, need to travel to some exotic destination to fulfill your fantasies and take control of your life, to heal…then that’s what I’ll do.”

My jaw drops open and I stare at him. “But-but what about Penny? She’s still in school.”

“I’ve talked to her. She understands. If it’s over the summer, we’ll take her and she’ll learn something new, she’ll explore the world. But if it’s during the school year, she’ll stay with someone. Not her mother! Neither of us want that,” he mutters under his breath.

Tears spill down my cheeks. Love lights up his ice-blue gaze, warming them to sky-blue and I melt into them, into him, my arms wrapping around him. Sobbing softly, tangling my fingers into his soft t-shirt, holding him desperately close, I breathe in the essence of the man.

“I love you, Leon. I shouldn’t for so many damn reasons, the main one being it’s too soon and I should know better. But I can’t breathe when I’m away from you. Leaving almost killed me, but I want to make you happy, want to see you smile.” Sniffling into his shirt, I wince, knowing I’m probably leaving trails of tears and snot but he just laughs softly, lifting my chin up, his warm lips brushing, clinging to mine lightly, gently.

“What makes me happy is you.”

My heart thuds out of control and I burrow into his warm body, my fingers tracing the stacks of muscles barely hidden by his thin shirt. My breath sucks in harshly when I feel his erection poking me in the belly. He groans under his breath.

“You’re gonna kill me here, baby girl,” he growls roughly and I keep tracing his abs, letting my fingers do the talking for me.

“Tell me you’re not gonna leave me. Tell me you’re mine and even if we don’t get married, you’ll always be mine.”

“You don’t want to marry me?” I try to pull back but he holds me tight to him.

“I’d marry you in a heartbeat. But I don’t think you’re ready after your first and I’d wait forever to have you as mine. I’d give you everything to have you as mine.” He leans down and gently kisses my jaw, trailing kisses to my ear and leaving me breathless, quaking inside. The earth shifts around me and I tilt my head, letting him inside all my shadowy, frightened spaces. “My heart is yours and it always will be, baby. I’m yours, heart, soul, body. Every inch of me is tattooed with your name all the way to the bone. But if you can’t do that, if you’re never able to marry me it doesn’t matter. I don’t need it, the only thing I need to know is that you’re mine.”

I step back and lift my shirt up over my head, watching his blue eyes ignite with lust as he drinks in my bare body, my breasts tightening, aching. “I’m yours, heart, soul, body. Always.”

He groans and steps forward. “Then that’s all I need.”

But it’s not. His big hands slide up and down my arms and shivers dance along my skin wherever his fingers dance.

“I need you so much, Leon. Please,” I beg, throwing back my head my curls flying, my need ratcheting up until I’m aching, throbbing with lust and taut desire.

He groans harshly and his head dips, his lips finding my nipples, wrapping around one and tugging, raking it with his teeth as his big, nimble fingers tug at the other harshly.

Gasping, I push forward into his touch, needing the pain, craving the pleasure to ground me. My fingers delve into his soft hair, tangling and yanking. He growls harder and his free hand dips down to caress my pussy through my clothes.

“You need me too, don’t you, angel? Need me to make you feel good.”

Nodding frantically, I claw at his shirt, ripping it off over his head with his help. His eyes are a bare ring of blue flames and his pupils have overtaken the blue, pushing it out like night claims the brilliant blue of the sky.

He growls again, hunger tautening his skin, his cheekbones so sharp he could cut glass.
