I couldn't suppress the grin that spread across my face. Imagining my little one dressed in the tiny knitted garments was already making me impatient for their arrival. I waited so long for to conceive, that this felt like a dream.

"So, any ideas on how you’re going to surprise Adrik with the news?" Christy asked, her eyes sparkling.

I chewed on my bottom lip, contemplating the possibilities. "I was thinking I could go for something romantic," I suggested tentatively. "Maybe a candlelit dinner?"

Christy's face lit up at the suggestion. "That sounds perfect! I can help you set the table and even cook dinner if you want."

Relief washed over me at her offer. "That would be amazing, thank you," I said gratefully.

We spent the next hour bustling around the kitchen, setting the table with care and preparing a delicious meal. Christy's presence made the day much more memorable, her infectious energy helping to distract me from the anxiety gnawing at the edges of my mind. Once everything was ready, Christy flashed me a wink before slipping out of the door, congratulating me again.

As I waited for Adrik to return home, my head spun with anticipation. Would he be surprised? Excited? Overwhelmed? We wanted this for so long, and it was finally happening.

I heard the familiar creak of the front door opening, signaling Adrik's arrival home. My heart skipped a beat as I rushed to greet him, a smile already forming on my lips.

"Hey there," I said softly, planting a kiss on his cheek as he stepped inside. "Welcome home."

He looked around the room, a curious expression on his face. "What's all this, my love?" he asked, his voice laced with intrigue.

"I have a surprise," I replied, trying to keep my excitement in check. "But first, let's eat."

Sitting down at the table, it was hard for both of us to focus on the meal in front of us. Adrik's eyes were filled with expectation, eager to hear what I had to say, while I struggled to keep myself from blurting out the news right then and there.

"You outdid yourself with this dinner, Luna," Adrik said between bites, offering me a warm smile. "Thank you."

I couldn't help but blush at his compliment, feeling a rush of warmth spreading through me. "You're welcome," I replied softly, my heart swelling with love for this man.

Once we finished eating, I couldn't wait any longer. I reached under the table and handed him a small gift bag, a nervous knot forming in my stomach.

"What's the occasion?" he asked, raising an eyebrow in curiosity.

"Just open it," I urged.

He untied the ribbon and carefully opened the bag, his eyes widening in surprise as he pulled out the pregnancy test. I held my breath, waiting for his reaction.

"Milaya?" he questioned, his eyes glossy.

"We're pregnant," I replied, unable to contain the excitement in my voice any longer.

He moved from his chair and knelt before me, his hands gently cradling my stomach. It felt like a sacred moment, his head resting against me as if he were seeking solace in the promise of new life.

"Thank you so much," he murmured. "Thank you for giving me this, for granting me a family."

I shook my head, "No, thank you, my love," I told him, reaching out to brush a stray lock of hair from his forehead. "Thank you for being my family."

"Picture this," he began, "a little girl with your stubborn streak, tearing through the woods around our cabin. She'd give us both gray hairs before our time."

I couldn't help but chuckle at the image he painted, a small smile tugging at the corners of my lips. There was something undeniably appealing about the thought of a mini-me wreaking havoc in our lives.

"Or maybe," I countered, my voice laced with amusement, "a boy with your enchanting smile, standing tall by your side, ready to take on the world."

Adrik's lips twitched into a smirk, his eyes alight with a mischievous glint. "He'd be a handful, that's for sure," he agreed, his tone tinged with a hint of pride. "But he'd also be fiercely protective, just like his old man."

There was softness in his words, a tenderness that belied the rough exterior he often projected. In that moment, as we shared our dreams for the future.

"And what if," I said, trailing off as I searched for the right words, "we're blessed with both?"

Adrik's gaze softened, his hand finding mine and squeezing it gently, playing with my wedding ring that made it back on my finger. Adrik had retrieved it from Elena, and I was ecstatic to have it back. It meant the world to me.

"Then we'll raise them together," he replied, his voice filled with a quiet certainty. "We'll teach them to be strong, to be brave, and to be everything we could ever hope for."

The future stretched out before us, filled with endless possibilities and unknown adventures. But with Adrik by my side, I knew that no matter what challenges lay ahead, we would face them together, hand in hand.I made a silent vow to stayby his side until the end of time, ready to brave whatever the world had in store for us. In his arms, I had found my home, my sanctuary, my everything. With him, I was ready to take on whatever life threw our way, one step at a time.
