“Nope. I only heard Mark a few moments ago.”

“That’s not surprising.” He smiled. “If you see him.” I leaned in when he kissed my cheek.

“I’ll send him your way,” I reassured him.

“Thank you, dear.” He held up his mug, and I rolled my eyes as he straightened and trotted off toward the kitchen and Abigail.

“Hey, have you seen Beckett?” Moore stopped me near the stairs. We seriously needed trackers for everyone. The house was huge, but the property was ridiculous.

“No, not since last night.” The guys had decided to spend the night out by the firepit in an effort to distract Keith. I’d slept in my own room and had gone up a little early to give them all space.

“He’s with Frank.” Mark toed off his boots and switched them out for clean ones. “Abby!” he yelled, and I squinted at the sheer volume his voice took on. “Where was June last night? She didn’t come home.”

“It’s none of your concern,” Abigail called back.

“It’s always my concern because I need to be in the know on everything.” He grinned at me, and I gave him a look and shook my head at him. Mark was something extra at times.

Moore laughed. “He’s a little like a Navy SEAL with a sprinkle of glitter and dash of pizazz.”

“He needs that on a shirt,” I huffed.

“He really does. Okay,” he looked around then leaned in, “do you have any idea why Beckett is in with Frank?”

“No, I don’t. Sorry.”

“Would you tell if you did?” He eyed me playfully.

“No, I wouldn’t. Sorry.” I smiled at him.

“All good.” He shrugged then looked down at me. “You know Ty must really be into you.”

“Why do you say that?”

“Because when we were out by the fire last night, he looked up at your window at least a dozen times.” He tapped his head and nodded to let me know he was on to us.

“Oh, yeah?” I tilted my head with a grin.

“Mmhumm.” He matched my grin. “It got me thinking, we should spend some time together.”

“Will you share stories on Ty?”

“Only the bad ones.”

I laughed. “Then count me in.”

“Let’s get through this storm first, and we’ll set a date.” He checked his watch. “I gotta go! See you around, Ivy.” I was pleased with Moore. He seemed to fit in perfectly here, and I even heard he had two sessions with Reid at his own request. That won brownie points in my book. The best part was how happy Ty was to have him here, and that scored big time.

I glanced at my phone. I was on pins and needles as I waited for my update with Michelle. I stopped short and almost spilled my coffee when I realized Cole waited on my couch. That was unexpected.

“I know I’m not on the schedule, but I’d like to talk if you have a few minutes.” His haunted eyes showed the depth of his pain.

“Of course.” I closed the door behind me, slid my belongings on the desk, and unplugged my iPad from the charger. I took the seat across from him, and right on cue, Scoot scampered out from behind my fern and plopped himself on the armrest. Apparently, this session needed his expertise as well.

“Where would you like to start?” I urged him to begin.

“I’m worried about what the outcome of this mission will be.” I loved that he wasted zero time jumping into his problem. It was another sign that he had worked with my uncle for years.

“Understandable.” I took note of his hunched shoulders and what must be a bad headache by the way he pressed his fingers against his temples, seeking relief. I got up and walked around my desk to grab him a bottle of pain reliever from my top drawer.
