Hot enough to make me forget about the fact that we were in a public place and I could get caught by a very unimpressed boss.

“He can’t keep coming in here if he’s going to distract you. I need you focused.”

“Yes, Marianne.” I bobbed my head and promised I’d never let it happen again.

She eventually huffed and waddled back to her post in the kitchen so she could bark at the chef. Despite her growly behavior, she’s actually a pretty decent manager. Really fair. And she’s giving me so much extra work. Plus, she agreed to pay me in cash.

The money pile at the bottom of my suitcase is steadily growing… just as fast as my urge to leave Nolan is diminishing.

I know I can’t stay, but when I’m hanging out with Liam like this, the idea of leaving is a killer.

Another shiver runs through me, and I curl against the icy breeze.

“C’mere.” Liam wraps his arm around my waist, tugging me to his side.

I burrow into his jacket, which makes it awkward to walk, but it’s so worth it. We shuffle home at a slower pace, and by the time we reach Hockey House, my nose is frozen and my lips are numb.

Pulling the beanie farther down on my head, I step away from Liam so we can ascend the stairs more easily, but his hand captures my elbow and tugs me away from the door.

“What?” I giggle at the look on his face.

He’s wearing this mischievous smile that melts my heart to goop as he guides me around the side of the house and stops within the shadows.

“What are you doing?” I grin as he nudges me against the house and leans in.

“To be continued?” His wolfish smile elicits another giggle out of me, but the sound is smothered by his warm, delicious lips.

I sink into the kiss, the darkness of our hiding spot ridding me of any inhibitions.

Wrapping my arms around his neck, I pull him so close his body is falling against mine. He’s squishing me against the house, but I can barely feel it. All I can taste is his tongue. All I can hear is the way our jackets are rustling together as his hands glide around my waist.

He squeezes me to him, and my breasts flatten against his chest. He’ll barely be able to feel them, what with the jackets in the way and the fact that… well, they’re not very big. I’m skinny from head to toe, which means small boobs and minimal ass curvature.

Liam switches the angle of our kiss, groaning into my mouth and sounding as though he’s enjoying himself.

I grip the collar of his jacket, feeding off his warmth, the fire inside me building to an inferno as my body wants to do way more than just kiss this guy.

The urges pulsing through me are strong enough to derail any sensibility. Like seriously, I’m ready to strip naked right here and run my tongue over those very fine abs of his. We could fall into the snow and I probably wouldn’t even feel its icy sting if Liam was sliding into me.

My chest hitches as my imagination takes flight and this searing-hot kiss ratchets up a few more degrees.

This is crazy.

I’m seriously lusting after this guy with a power I’ve never felt before.

Liam, with his sweet smile and kind eyes.

Liam, who makes sure I get home safely from work.

Liam, who I want to do unspeakably dirty things to.

The phone in his pocket starts buzzing, and it takes us both a second to register what the noise even is.

Pulling away from me with a reluctant moan, Liam grabs it out of his pocket and winces.

“It’s my little sister. I better get it.”

“Okay.” I let him go, brushing my fingers over swollen lips that are still tingling.
