When Christian comes back in, he’s holding a pale-yellow electric guitar with a signature scrawled across the bottom in gold.

My mouth drops open as he comes back to the bed and hands the guitar over to me. “There is no way that you got me Ivy Faison’s signed guitar. You did not. Christian, this must have cost a small fortune.”

“Say thank you and then stop worrying about how much I paid for it.” He sits on the edge of the bed and leans over to swipe his fingertip through the icing.

He licks the icing from his finger before leaning back in bed. “You’re going to have to play me a song later.”

“Later? We could go out to the studio, and I could play one right now. Or a million.”

Christian chuckles and lays back in bed. “And here I thought you said that you never wanted to leave my bed.”

I gently put the guitar to the side, leaning it against the bedside table before moving to hover over him. “Thank you for the guitar. It’s the best gift that anyone has ever gotten me.”

“You’re welcome.” He tilts his head up to kiss me, his lips soft as they move against mine.

I lose myself in the feeling for a few minutes before my growling stomach breaks us apart. Christian laughs and grabs the cake before settling back against the headboard. “You sound like you could use some food.”

Taking one of the forks out of the cake, I use it to carve a piece coated in icing.

I moan as the taste of chocolate and cherries hits my tongue. “This is an amazing cake. You’re going to have to start keeping one of these in the freezer so I can have it whenever I want.”

He smiles and puts the cake on his lap before taking his fork and trying a piece. “You’re right. How about we spend the morning in bed eating cake and watching a couple movies?”

I give him a wicked grin as I stick my finger in the icing before drawing a chocolate path down his toned stomach. “I don’t know about that. Eating cake off your body sounded like a pretty good idea to me.”

Christian’s gaze burns through me as he shuffles down the bed and gestures to his stomach. “Eat away.”

As I draw more icing patterns on him, I think that this might be the best birthday ever.

Ava grins as Christian and I hurry down the street to the club.

She pulls me into a tight hug, rocking us back and forth. “I can’t believe that my baby sister is finally twenty-five. Tonight will be amazing. We’re going to get loaded on alcohol and have a great time.”

Ruben and Christian roll their eyes.

Ava smirks and takes me by the hand before reaching back for Camila. Together, the three of us walk past the bouncer and into the club Ruben owns.

The men trail behind, muttering to themselves about having to carry us home later.

I don’t bother to listen to anyone as the smell of alcohol and a pounding bass invade my senses.

When Ava called and asked what I wanted to do tonight, I knew that I wanted to spend time at the most exclusive club in the city. I doubted that she could make it happen until I found out that Ruben owns the club.

Now, we’re beneath the strobing lights as bodies writhe to the music.

Liquor sloshes in cups and to the floor where staff hurry to clean it up.

To the right there’s a sleek black bar with bartenders tossing the shakers high in the air. One of the bartenders juggles several bottles before catching them all and pouring a line of shots.

“Who knew that Ruben could actually put together a cool club?” Camila teases, her voice loud enough for Ruben to hear over the music.

Ruben rolls his eyes. “I can still have you kicked out if you’re not going to behave. Don’t think that I won’t.”

Camila flips him off before heading up the stairs to the VIP lounge.

We follow behind her, dodging women in short dresses and men in dress shirts and slacks.

Camila leads the way to a large booth in the corner that overlooks the rest of the club.
