Camila squeals and launches herself at Zoe, the boxes falling to the ground.

“Thank you. You are the best sister to ever exist. You just tell me where you want to go tonight, and I’ll take you there.”

Zoe laughs as she pries herself away from Camila. “We better hurry up. I’m starving.”

Camila gets to work, moving around the room with the force of a small hurricane.

Though I didn’t find anything to tell me who might have been in here, I know it’s Demarco and his men. They’re making a point.

Demarco wants me to know that he can get to her if he really wants to.

Zoe joins in on the packing, laughing and talking with my sister as if they’ve been friends for years.

I don’t understand half of their inside jokes, but that’s fine. I’m too busy worrying about what happens when Demarco finally makes his big move.

How long is it before he goes after Zoe?

The scent of Christian’s cologne wraps around me as I nestle down deeper into his sheets.

Now that I’ve spent the past week sleeping in his bed, I don’t think that I’m ever going to leave. There’s something about the spicy and sweet smell that lures me in and makes me think I could live in this bed forever.

With a yawn I roll over and grab the remote to open the curtains.

Even if my plan for my twenty-fifth birthday is to stay in bed all day, I can at least get some sunlight while doing it.

The door swings open, and Christian comes in wearing nothing but a party hat and a pair of black boxers.

He holds a cake with two forks stabbed in the top as he makes his way across the room and to the edge of the bed.

“Happy birthday,” he says as he sets the cake on the bedside table. “How does it feel to be a quarter of a century old?”

I grin and loop my finger in the elastic of the hat, pulling him down for a kiss. “I feel ancient. I also never want to leave your bed. Do you know how comfortable this thing is?”

He chuckles and sits on the edge of the bed, running his hand up and down my thigh.

Sparks rush through my body, a promise of what’s to come later. “You don’t have to leave my bed if you don’t want to. In fact, we could finally move your things into my room, and we could stop pretending that you don’t love sleeping with me.”

My cheeks warm as I roll my eyes. “I definitely don’t. You’re a bed hog who steals the blankets. I swear, getting into bed with you at night is like preparing to step into a wrestling ring. One of these days I’m sure that you’re going to jump from the top ropes and just slam me through the floor.”

Christian laughs and pounces on top of me, straddling my hips and using his weight to keep me pinned down.

He peppers kisses all over my face and neck until I’m laughing so hard tears are in my eyes.

“What was that about jumping from the top ropes?” he asks as he pins my hands above my head. “Because I could do a lot more than just that. We could have you screaming my name in minutes if you like.”

“I don’t know if only lasting a few minutes is something to brag about.” I stick my tongue out at him, laughing when he nips at it.

“You know damn well I can go all night long if I’m properly motivated.”

I writhe around beneath him, grinning as his cock presses against the thin fabric of his boxers. “We don’t have all day for you to be properly motivated.”

He snorts and gets out of bed. “I’m going to make you beg for it all day long. But first, there’s another surprise for you. After that, then you can eat cake off my body all you want.”

I scoff and shift back to lean against the headboard. Wriggling around, I get the pillows in a comfortable position behind my back to watch as he leaves the room.
