“Tye,” I cut him off with a glare. “If you believe that prick, I’m done with you.”
Tye left, bowing his head in shame as I stared after him in disgust. Did he expect me to entertain this bullshit?
I should hate AJ for this, but I was more pissed with Tye for giving him the benefit of the doubt. Staring down at the paperwork in front of me, I tried to concentrate, but my brain was having none of it.
Tye and Elizabeth think I’d kill a woman?
Elizabeth didn’t know me as well as Zeus and Tye, that’s for damn sure, butTye?
I grabbed my phone, my fingers trembling as I texted Elizabeth.
I mean every word I type—I just hoped she let me explain.

Lizzie and Zeus seemed to have made up, judging by how they washed the dishes side by side, looking all kinds of domesticated. I feltwretched.The door slammed behind me, and Zeus and Lizzie turned to me, guilt flashing in Lizzie’s eyes as I shot her a dark look. Not only was I jealous of her and Zeus, but she put this shit in my head. I couldn’t blame her, not entirely, but I shouldneverhave doubted Reign.
Lizzie looked nervous, dragging over a towel to dry her hands.
“So,” Zeus drawled, crossing his arms across his chest. “How did that go?”
I tugged open the fridge, pulling out a beer. “Fucking awful.”
Zeus watched me as I drained the beer, his expression a mixture of concern and desire.
“Well, I hate to say I told you so.” Zeus shrugged, putting his hand out for a beer. “But I did. Reign wouldnever do that.”
I nodded glumly, staring at the floor as I handed Zeus a beer.
“What did you say?” Lizzie asked, her voice small.
I didn’t even look at her when I answered.
“What AJ told you. Reign said if I believe his shit, he’s done with me.”
Lizzie clapped her hand to her mouth in horror, but I wasn’t done.
“He said the same about you.”
Lizzie paled, and Zeus nodded, sipping his beer. The atmosphere in the room was tense, and I wanted to drink until I couldn’t feel anymore.
What kind of friend asked the shit I did?
Zeus walked over to me, taking the beer from my hand as he held my jaw, his eyes locking me in place. As usual, I was a mess around him, and he knew it. His mouth met mine, and we kissed like we’d never done it before. Zeus broke the kiss to whisper in my ear.
“You’re a good person, but you shouldn’t ever doubt your friends, Tye.”
He pecked me on the lips before throwing me a wink. “If you need to get that aggression out, I’ll be there.” He nodded to the bedroom, throwing Lizzie a similar look. “Goes for you too, honey.”
Zeus smirked as a red-faced Lizzie sucked in a breath, clearly heated from watching us make out.
“Lizzie, I feel like shit. I’m gonna go and be with Zeus.”
I hoped she wouldn’t join us. Not because I didn’t want her there, her stupidly sexy body and mouth beneath me and on my dick, no. It was because I hoped she would call Reign and tell him she believed him that she was wrong.
Because I do.
