“You’re going to prevent yourself from being in love because of your past mistakes?” Tye sighed, shaking his head. “That was a fucking accident.”

“I should’ve paid more attention,” I rasped, my throat drying. “AJ was too far gone…all Alannah had was me. I was her Dom. I failed her.”

Zeus rubbed his jaw, studying the floor intently. “You were young. You made a mistake.”

“It’s a little more than that, isn’t it? Alannah died.” Saying the words out loud made me want to vomit.

“The police ruled it accidental, so why are you beating yourself up?” Tye said with sadness in his voice. “Don’t do this to yourself. Lizzie wants you.”

“She’s got you two. It doesn’t have to be just me.”

I didn’t mean it, though. I wanted her to be mine to protect and worship for the rest of my life.

But I didn’t deserve her.

“With all due respect, we don’t mind fucking her, but we aren’t going to be able to offer her much more than that.” Zeus shrugged. “I’m not falling in love with her, but you are. You have.”

“I know, but—”

“I fucking knew it. You love her.”

“We’re allsupposedto,” I reminded Zeus, who sighed.

“I can’t commit to one person. I just can’t.”

Tye stared at the floor, his gaze hardening.

“What are you saying?” I demanded, glancing from one to the other. “Tye?”

“Lizzie lovesyou, Reign. She’d let us worship her body morning, noon, and night, but her mind, heart, and soul belong to you. Don’t push her away.”

I didn’t know what to say.

I wanted Elizabeth to myself but had no problem sharing her with Tye and Zeus in the bedroom occasionally. How could I tell her the truth about Alannah and AJ? I couldn't.

“Elizabeth would run away if she knew,” I said, staring at the floor.

Tye made a face and flicked the TV on.

“It's still her choice to make, Reign,” Zeus said, closing his eyes. “Guys, I need to sleep. I’ll catch you in a bit.”

Zeus headed upstairs, and I stopped him with a, “Wait. I need to tell you guys something. Elizabeth told me what AJ did to her wasn’t consensual.”

Zeus stilled, his brow knitting as he stared at me. “She told you that?”

“Yes.” I dropped my head into my hands. “AJ abused her.”

“Did he rape her?” Zeus asked, his fists bunching by his sides.

I scowled. “No, but he did enough.”

Tye jumped to his feet. “That bastard! Lizzie better not have gone back there!”

I shook my head and tried to remain calm, but every neuron in my brain told me to murder AJ West for touching what was mine. But first, I needed to find Elizabeth. “She hasn’t. She promised me.”

Zeus tilted his head and gazed at me. “You’re too calm. This isn’t like you.”

Tye swore as he paced the room, the only one of us getting rid of the nervous energy thrumming through us. Zeus was right; I was too calm, and it scared me. It meant I was unpredictable.
