Carter huffed. “Montgomery Enterprises headquarters isn’t that bad.”
“Is that where we’re meeting?”

Carter narrowed his eyes at me. “You brushed your teeth earlier. Did you use my toothbrush?”

I shrugged. “I looked for a spare. Did you really want me to have bad breath?”

“Wait. There’s one in my go bag. You had no trouble finding my burner phone and my gun in there. Why didn’t you get the toothbrush?”

He pulled me back for another kiss. “I’m sorry. I’ll get it for you.”

I laughed as I pushed off him and headed into the bathroom.
Once we were tucked back in bed, I wrapped my body around his and held him tightly against me with an arm around his waist.

Carter turned over and scowled at me. “We’re going to wake up in a puddle of sweat.”
