Davis angles his hips, and the base of his cock brushes over my clit again, and again, and again. My core tightens around his thick length, and I cry out as I start to come.

“Davis!” I shout, the word echoing off of the tiles around us.

“Mate,” he grits out, and I feel him come inside of me.

He leans his forehead against mine as we both try to catch our breath and come down from our highs. His grip on me loosens, and I slowly slide down to my feet. He holds me until he’s sure that I’m steady and then smiles down at me.

I reach for the soap, but he beats me to it, squirting some into his hand and then lathering up my body. I let him take care of me, enjoying feeling so cared for and loved. Once he’s done, I grab the soap and do the same for him, my hands smoothing over every inch of him.

By the time I’m done, I think we’re both ready to go another round, but he’s running late, and I’m feeling sore. Davis wraps me in a towel, and I dry my hair and head back into the bedroom to find my clothes from last night.

We get dressed, both sneaking glances at each other and smiling when we get caught. It feels like I’m a giddy teenager. I feel lighter and safer than I ever have in my life.

“I’ll drive you back to the ski resort and then head to work. Maybe I can get off early and we can grab dinner. I could try to cook for you,” he offers, and I remember him telling me that he was a disaster in the kitchen on our date last night.

“Trying to get rid of me?” I joke, and he laughs.

“Never. You’re stuck with me forever.”

“Let me know. I’ll be at the resort all day.”

“You could stay here instead,” he offers, and I debate it, but my stuff is at the resort, and I wanted to go through some of the photos I took when I first got here.

“No, I need to do some work. I’ll see you later,” I promise him as we head downstairs.

He holds my hand the entire drive back to the resort, and I can tell that it kills him to have to leave me. He pulls up out front, and I lean over, kissing him quickly.

“Talk to you later,” I promise him as I hop out.

I wave, and he looks torn, but waves back at me. I turn and head inside and hear him drive off.

I get up to my room and plug my phone into the charger; then I grab my gear. There’s something so comforting and relaxing in transferring the photos from my camera to my laptop and then going through them. It used to mean that an assignment was close to being over, and the possibilities of what was to come next always had me feeling so excited and hopeful.

Now, it’s because I want to see what my new home looks like. I’m not sure when I started thinking of this place as my home, but that’s what it feels like now that I’ve met Davis. I can’t imagine leaving him.

Is that crazy? I mean, I’ve only known him for a few days, and I’m already talking about moving here and being with him forever.

That’s what he wants, too. I’m his mate. I’m his forever.

My phone starts to ring on the bedside table and I rush to answer it, expecting it to be Davis, but instead, I see Frankie’s name on the screen.

“Hey! How’s it going?” I answer the call.

“Cameron?” Frankie asks with a sniffle, and my stomach drops.

Suddenly, it’s like I’m back in middle and high school. I know that tone in her voice. I know that her dad has done something or that she’s scared of what he’s about to do. I know that I need to get to her.

“I’m on my way. I can be there late tonight,” I tell her.

She sniffles again, and I know that she’s crying.

“It will be okay,” I promise her. “I’m coming.”

All thoughts of Davis and this being my home leave my head. All I can think about is getting to Frankie before anything bad can happen.

“I’ll see you soon,” I tell her.

“Okay,” she chokes out, and my heart breaks.
