Ash:Absolutely. We’re here for you.

Gunner:Just tell us what you need.

The plane startsto take off, so I stow my phone and pull Cameron closer toward me. The sun is starting to set already as we reach cruising altitude, and I wait for the flight attendant tocome by with our drinks before I pull the partition closed and turn to my mate.

“Want to join the mile high club?” I whisper to her, and she giggles as I pull her into my arms and kiss her.

Then we do just that.

Twice.

ELEVEN

Cameron

Five Years Later…

“Areyou sure that we have everything?” I ask Davis as he finishes loading our bags into the back of the SUV.

“Yes, my mate. We’ve got everything,” he assures me.

I’ve been a little stressed about leaving Aspen Ridge. This is our first family trip since Frankie and I officially moved here. I know that a big part of that was because I was so excited to settle down with Davis. The other part was fear and worry that Frankie’s father or some of his friends would find us.

It’s been five years, though, and I know it’s time to go on a vacation. The kids are so excited to go to the beach, and I’m excited to enjoy some warmer weather.

Casey and Cami come toddling out of the house, and I smile at our girls as they come our way.

“Mommy! Are we going now?” Casey asks, and I nod, bending down to scoop her up while Davis gets Cami.

We get the girls buckled up into their car seats, and I take a deep breath as I close the back door of the car and look over to the house. All the lights are off, and I know we’re good to go.

“Do you need a moment?” Davis asks as he comes over to my side.

“Yeah. It’s crazy that I spent so many years traveling all over, and never gave it much thought. Now I don’t want to go.”

“It’s only for a few days,” he tries to assure me.

“I know. I’ll be okay. As long as we’re all together.”

He smiles and pulls me into his arms, and I rest against him as I look around our home. I moved into Davis’s cabin when I got back to Aspen Ridge. Frankie stayed with us for a few days, but then we decided it would be safer for her to stay with Gunner. His place is more remote, and he promised to keep her safe. When I found out that he was Frankie’s mate, I started to relax. I knew he wouldn’t let anything bad happen to his fated mate.

I loved having Frankie close by. It was nice to be able to see her every day after years of talking on the phone or texting. We hang out almost every day and have only gotten closer in the last five years.

Davis asked me to marry him right after we got back to Aspen Ridge, and I, of course, said yes. Frankie was my maid of honor. She was actually the only one that I invited, but it was still great. All of the Mountain Rescue guys were there, and we had a small ceremony in the forest where Davis first saved me. Luckily for Frankie and me it was summer so the weather was pretty mild.

Frankie was also there with me when I realized that I was pregnant with both girls. Davis knew before me both times because he could smell it on me. I took a pregnancy test the first time, wanting that as proof, but with Cami, I knew that Davis was right.

Luckily for me, the pregnancies were easy. Probably because Davis wouldn’t let me lift a finger the entire time. The labor wasrough, and I remember vowing to only have one after Casey was born. Now, when I look at my two girls, I’m glad we didn’t stop at just one.

The girls are polar opposites. Casey is our bold, fearless one. She’s already begging Davis to teach her how to shift and fight, and she’s only three.

Cami is quieter and more cautious. She likes baking with me, and she’s already starting to show interest in my photography equipment. I love that because it reminds me of my dad teaching me about all of this stuff too.

“Alright, let’s go,” I say, pulling back from Davis.

He nods and takes my hand, leading me to the passenger side. He opens the door for me and I stand on my tiptoes and kiss him quickly.

“What was that for?” He asks, stopping me before I can get too far from him.
