“That would look great on you!” Cameron says, pointing to a green silk dress hanging next to me.

“I don’t need a dress. Where would I wear it?” I ask her, and she shrugs.

“Around Gunner’s house.”

I snort at the idea of getting all dressed up and walking around Gunner’s place. He barely has furniture, so it would look so out of place. Besides, it’s not like Gunner would even notice.

“Has he confessed his love for you yet?” She asks me, and I shake my head.

“No, not yet. I’m pretty sure he forgets that I’m staying with him most of the time.”

“That can’t be true,” she scoffs, and I give her a grim smile.

“He barely talks to me.”

“He barely talks to anyone,” she points out.

“Ready to go to the next shop?” I ask her, and she nods.

We head back out to the sidewalk, and I freeze when I look up and spot a familiar face.

“Cam!” I hiss, ducking back into the boutique.

“What?” She whispers back, looking around in a panic.

“That’s Ruddy,” I tell her, pointing to where three men are climbing out of a dark SUV.

“I don’t know who that is.”

“He’s friends with my father.”

A fourth man climbs out, and my stomach drops.

“That’s him. That’s Peter.”

“The man who tried to buy you?” She asks with fury in her voice.

“Yeah. He’s found me, Cameron,” I whisper.

Tears fill my eyes, and that familiar stress and panic come flooding back into me.

“I have to leave,” I tell her.

“No, we need to call Gunner and Davis.”

We both pull out our phones and my hands shake as I hit Gunner’s name.

“Frankie?” He answers on the third ring.

“They’re here. In town,” I whisper.

“Where are you?”

“At some boutique.”

“Okay, sit tight. I’m coming to get you.”

“They’ll find me. I need to leave.”
