“I’m buying the book for G,” he said instantly, and the fact that he had no issue with buying things for someone else but he couldn’t do the same for himself made me feel really fucking sad.

I let him pay, though, and when we were back outside in the sunshine, he seemed brighter, giving me a warm smile as he dropped his empty coffee cup into the designated bin. Drawing me closer, he placed a quick kiss to the side of my head, his smile widening as I turned to meet his gaze.

“Come on. Let’s walk along the canal to Camden Market and get some lunch from the food stalls. What do you say?”

My smile matched his. “I say yes. But first, let’s take a selfie. I want to remember this moment.” When I’d snapped the photo of us, the canal in the background, we both studied the picture. “We look so good together, don’t we?”

“We do,” he agreed softly. “Can you send the photo to me so I have a copy?”

“Of course.”

“I told you to slice the potatoes, Joshua. Do I need to do it myself?”

“Mmm, bossy Dr. Wilder makes a return. Please, sir, I don’t know how to cut potatoes. Can you wrap your sexy arms around me and help me chop?”

“I’d spank you for that comment if you weren’t holding a sharp knife,” Killian growled in my ear, pressing up against my back. His big erection was a hard line against my ass, and I rolled my hips, just a little, teasing him.

He wrapped his hand around my hip, stopping my movements. “Behave. When this dish goes in the oven, we’ll have thirty-five minutes to do whatever you want. Until then, behave yourself. It’s difficult enough as it is for me to hold on to my control around you.”

I pouted, just for effect, and he responded by chuckling and then kissing the side of my neck, making me shiver. Angling my head to the side so he could trail his nose up my throat, I reached my hand behind me, pulling him closer. “Can you show me how to slice the potatoes, please?”

We both knew that I was competent in the kitchen, but he went along with my little game anyway, wrapping one arm around me and sliding his other onto the countertop, his hand closing over mine around the knife handle. Together, we finished slicing and layering the potato with garlic-infused cream in the ceramic dish, and then Killian grated cheese on the top while I basted the chicken that was already roasting in the oven. The whole thing was an exercise in restraint, with my erection throbbing in my jeans and Killian shooting me heated looks from across the kitchen island, a dark promise in his gaze.

Finally, everything was in the oven, and we made the most of our thirty-five minutes, with Killian prepping me until I was begging for his big cock, then bending me over and fucking me hard and fast, working my cock at the same time, until I came all over his hand and the back of the sofa. When he finished inside me, we collapsed together, sated and breathless.

“How does it get better with you every time?” I wondered aloud. “I can’t get enough of you.”

Smiling against my skin, he pressed a kiss to my nape. “You know it’s the same for me.” With a groan, he withdrew his softening cock from me and helped me to my feet. “As much as I fucking love the look of my cum dripping out of you, we have four minutes before the timer goes off. Come on, let’s shower before the food’s ready.”

Showering with Killian Wilder was never going to take four minutes. Not when I had his gorgeous body right in front of me, rivulets of water running over his muscles, his dark hair plastered to his head, droplets streaking down his face. It would take someone with iron restraint to resist him like this, and I did not possess iron restraint when it came to this man.

The water had run cold, and the food was overcooked by the time we’d finally finished, but it was totally worth it.

After our meal, curled up on the sofa with Killian, I flipped between scrolling through my phone and reading the latest issue of Dance Europe magazine, my reading glasses perched on the end of my nose. The flat was quiet, other than the muted sounds from the street below us, interspersed with the whisper of turning pages, with Killian engrossed in his new book.

“I love seeing you here in my flat.”

Glancing up, I found Killian watching me, his book open on his lap. His gaze was so soft.

“Me too. Love being here, I mean. With you.”

I wished we could stay in this moment forever.

“Gwants to know if you’ll come with me to see her today.” I rolled over, showing Killian my phone screen. He rubbed his eyes, blinking against the sudden brightness, still waking up. His dark hair was all dishevelled, and he looked so sleepy and gorgeous. I loved that I got to be the one to see him like this.

“Yeah, okay,” he said, his voice raspy. “When?”

Glancing at the clock on my phone, I calculated how much time we’d need. “Three hours? Maybe four at the most?”

Stifling a yawn, he nodded. “Three hours gives us plenty of time. Tell her yes.”

When I’d tapped out a reply, he took my phone from my hand, placing it on his bedside table. Then, he rolled on top of me, stretching his body out over mine. “Hi.”

“Hi,” I replied breathlessly.

“I fucking love waking up with you in my bed.” Lowering his head, he placed a chain of kisses across my jaw.
