“I want to. I don’t know how she feels about it.” All I could think about was how off she seemed this morning. I knew she was stressed about the wedding and her decorations being just right. But I couldn’t shake the feeling that something was off with her. That she was worried about something more than the wedding.

“Are you going to have that conversation soon?” Emmett asked.

“She hasn’t officially moved in yet. I was waiting for that before we tackled the rest of it. If she doesn’t or can’t get pregnant naturally, then we have options. I just don’t know if she’s interested in that.”

“That’s something you need to discuss before you get any more serious,” Knox said.

“I think we’re already serious. I’m okay with whatever she wants. She’s it for me.”

“That’s love,” Knox said, leaning over to slap my arm.

“I don’t think I ever stopped loving her.”

Cole shifted in his chair. “You think there’s one person for everyone?”

“I don’t know about that. But I’ve had a chance to see other women, and no one has ever compared. We just get each other in a way no one else ever has.”

“She’s good for you. You’ve been going out more often, working less—” Knox began.

“And obviously showering more. You don’t stink for once,” Emmett added.

“Shut up. I didn’t stink.”

Emmett just raised a brow.

“I like myself better when I’m with her, too. She ran into her father a few weeks ago, and it didn’t derail her or throw her off course. So I’m hopeful that our trouble is all in the past.” But then why was she so edgy this morning? Was she keeping a secret from me? Was she waiting until after the wedding to tell me?

Epilogue

Holly

My breaths felt shallow as I waited in the tent with Sarah and the attendants. Sarah stood in front of the full-length mirror, her eyes shining with unshed tears. “I can’t believe I’m getting married.”

Ireland touched her shoulder. “To the most wonderful man.”

“Emmett said he took his brothers to the other side of the pond to talk,” Lori said as she looked at her phone.

“Hopefully, Knox didn’t accidentally see his bride.” Irritation filled Marley’s tone that the guys had done something off-script. Emmett was supposed to keep Knox occupied at his house before the wedding.

“The boys used to meet up all the time to talk and let off steam. That’s probably what it was,” Lori said.

Sarah turned to face us, panic filling her expression. “You don’t think Knox is having second thoughts, do you?”

“You don’t really think that, do you?” Ireland asked her gently. “This has nothing to do with my first engagement. I found out before I walked down the aisle that my fiancé had cheated on me. Knox wouldn’t do that.”

Sarah bit her lip. “He wouldn’t.”

Ireland nodded. “He loves you and Addy. When I asked Emmett this morning how it was going, he said Knox was pacing because he was anxious to marry you as soon as possible. He thought it would be nice to get the brothers together and give him advice for a healthy relationship and marriage.”

The tension fell out of Sarah’s body, and her shoulders lowered, her face softening. “I’m just nervous.”

Lori hugged her. “Everyone is on their wedding day.”

Gia opened the tent and stepped inside. “Are you ready to get married?”

Sarah took a deep breath, then nodded.

Gia smiled. “It’s time. Everything’s ready. The flowers and decorations look amazing. The heaters are set up, so everyone is nice and warm. And most importantly, Knox is waiting for you at the end of the aisle.”
