Sarah straightened. “Let’s do this, then.”

We lined up, Addy and Ember acting as flower girls, and then it was me, Ireland, and Marley. I felt lucky to have become friends with these women over the last few years.

I tried not to think about what was weighing on my mind the last few days. I realized I’d missed my period. It wasn’t my imagination that my breasts were sore, and I felt a little crampy. It could have been the same signs as an impending period. But with my history, I was nervous I was pregnant.

I wanted to take a test, but I didn’t want to ruin the day. I’d focus on the wedding and then figure out what to do about it later.

Gia guided us into position, giving reminders to the girls to walk slowly and smile. Then, to Sarah, she told her to hold her flowers a little lower so it wouldn’t block the bodice of her dress.

Despite the cool weather, which was to be expected in February, the sun was shining brightly, and the sky was blue. There were a few clouds in the sky, but it didn’t detract from the beautiful day that it was.

“What a gorgeous day to get married.” Lori kissed Sarah’s cheek before hooking her hand through Emmett’s bent elbow.

He guided her down the aisle.

Knox stood at the end of the aisle, with his brothers lined up next to him. They looked devastatingly handsome in their suits.

Ember and Addy started down the aisle, throwing petals as they walked. When they reached the end, Knox crouched down and hugged them.

Ember sat down next to Lori as planned, but Knox held Addy’s and stood to face the procession.

I took a deep breath and moved with the lilting notes of the music. My gaze met Talon’s, and my breath caught and held. What would it be like if I were walking down the aisle toward him?

I waited for the panic and unease to set in, but it never came. Instead, a feeling of calm washed over me. There was even a tingle of excitement.

Talon winked, and my smile widened as I stepped to the bride’s side on the left.

Daphne walked down the aisle after me, but I was so focused on Talon, I forgot to check if Cole paid her any attention. Since Cole and Daphne were the two single attendants, they were paired up for the day.

The rest of the bridesmaids lined up next to me. I couldn’t take my gaze from Talon until the preacher started talking.

The words fell around me, but I couldn’t focus on them. Knox took Sarah’s hand, and they were guided through their vows and the exchanging of rings. A hush went over the crowd when Knox gave Addy a ring on a chain and hooked the clasp behind her neck.

“Addy, will you accept me into your life?” Knox asked her.

She threw her arms around his neck. “Yes!”

Knox’s eyes were suspiciously shiny as he lifted her into his arms, where she tucked her head against his shoulder.

The rest of the ceremony passed in a blur because all I could think about was what would I do if I was pregnant. Would Talon be upset?

He said he wanted the next time we got pregnant to be a choice. That way, we’d be prepared. Yet here we were, in the same situation.

I wanted to be with Talon. I wanted to marry him someday on the farm. But I wasn’t sure if, once again, a pregnancy would change everything. We’d be forced to alter our plans. That one or both of us would be unhappy with the outcome.

I didn’t want the panic to creep in, but I couldn’t help it. The preacher must have declared Sarah and Knox husband and wife because they moved down the aisle holding Addy’s hand, and the guests erupted in cheers.

I placed my hand in the crook of Talon’s arm, and he covered my hand with his. “Everything okay?”

I smiled and nodded. It would be because I had Talon on my side, but I wasn’t going through this alone. We were together, and I wasn’t going to push him away this time.

That eased my worries, and I could focus on Abby directing pictures of the bridal party. Gia’s wedding planning service had grown since she first approached Lori with the idea of weddings on the farm, and she didn’t hesitate to offer to help with Sarah’s wedding.

After the pictures, we moved to the barn where the reception was being held. There were twinkling lights and flowers hanging from the ceiling. My hearts hung in the window, with the setting sun’s rays shining through them, creating rainbows.

The attendants sat at a long table at the front of the barn, with Sarah and Knox in the middle.

Even though I’d resigned myself to talking to Talon about my fears after the reception, I was still worried about his reaction. We hadn’t planned this. What if he wasn’t ready to go through a pregnancy again? I was terrified of miscarriage and worried about what the future would bring.
