Cap nodded. “Tex, please stay on your contacts. Holland is heading to New Orleans.”

“Got it, now to the other news I have,” Tex said. “The Chinese are looking hard into you, Captain. I think you have less time than you’d hoped before they find the property in Idaho.”

“Let them come,” Cap stated in a hard voice.

“Do you need Wolf and his men?”

Cap nodded to Tex who was on the huge screen now. “With Holland and Mann leaving, I think it’d be best to have them at my back.”

“I’ll set up a conference call with Wolf. They’re here with me in Pittsburgh right now, on leave and between missions so there shouldn’t be a problem with them flying out to help you.”

“Thanks, Tex for setting up the logistics,” Cap told the other man. “We’ll talk in a bit.”

Tex disappeared from the screen and then it was just him, Scope, Holland, Ray, Marshall and Ava.

“I can’t believe it,” she said.

Neither could Cap. Then again, he’d thought Ava was dead, and she’d shown up out of literally nowhere.

“Reconnaissance, Holland. Find out if it’s her before you go off the reservation.”

“I seem to remember saying exactly those words to you a few days ago,” Holland told him.

Then they clasped hands and thumped each other on the back. “Be safe, brother.”

“You, too,” Holland said. To Ava he said, “If it’s her, I’ll bring her to you.”

She nodded before wiping the tears streaming from her eyes. Cap pulled her close, putting her head on his chest and holding her there.

“I don’t know if it’s her or not, but if it is, he’ll bring her back to you.”

She continued to weep silently. He held her tighter and let her get it all out.

“Okay, we need to plan. We’re about to be short two men. Scope I need you to catch Holland before he leaves and make sure you know what he saw on perimeter check and where you need to start.”

Scope nodded and left the room. Cap turned to Marshall and Ray then. “You two and Kyle can take watch in twelve-hour shifts. I’ll remain with Ava. Marshall, I want you training Ava on how to load, fire, and care for a Glock after lunch.”

Marshall nodded.

“Ray, I need you to get with Mann before he leaves and get his intel.”

Ray nodded his head and headed to find Mann.

“Marsh? On second thought, can you go ahead and get started with Ava? I need to talk to Tex about Wolf and his team.”

Marsh sighed. “I can. Come on, Ava, let’s go to the range.”

The war room cleared and Cap reached for his SAT phone and called Tex.

“Realistically, how long do I have?” he asked Tex bluntly.

“I’ve put up so many red herrings it’ll take the best of their best to find you and I estimate it’ll take about four to five days at most,” Tex answered. “I’ve got my resources spread thin on this one, Cap. I called Wolf and he’s all in. Said he owed you for getting his ass out of that bar in Sao Paolo last year.”

“I had forgotten about that. I’ll appreciate anything he and his team do.” Cap took a deep breath. “What are the odds that the woman in that video is Oliva?”

“I’m ninety-nine-point-nine percent certain it’s Olivia Maddigan,” Tex answered.

“That means the Chinese and Russians are splitting their resources looking for them both,” Cap responded.
