“Be careful or you’re going to start writing poetry to her nose hairs and eyebrows.”

Chuckling, Noah shook his head. “I wouldn’t go that far.”

“I trust you to do what is right for yourself and for the pack. You are a good man and a good alpha. Whatever you decide, I’ve got your back. Keith will, too. If the elders want to have a heart attack and the old biddies want to sit around waving their paper fans and gossiping because you make a human your luna, let them. I’ll bring the popcorn and we can watch.”

“I believe you would,” Noah said.

“Keith and I are planning on going to the club tonight. You should come. Get your mind off of things.”

“If by things you mean Angie, then it likely won’t work, but I’ll go anyway.”

The club was packed. Keith started the evening off by buying a round for the three of them.

“Hey, handsome,” a pretty blond woman said. She was standing so close to him that she was practically rubbing against him. “Dance with me?”

Noah hesitated for a second and then threw back the rest of his beer. “Why not.”

The song was slow and the woman wrapped her arms around his neck. She pressed her body close to him. As they moved around the dance floor, one of her hands slowly moved down his back to his butt. He grabbed her hand and moved it.

Once the song was over, he went back to the table where Elijah and Keith were laughing.

“I’m pretty sure that she was about ready to rip your clothes off and fuck your brains out on the floor right in front of everyone,” Elijah said.

“I was afraid,” Noah admitted, taking a swig from the fresh beer the pretty waitress sat in front of him.

She gave him a brilliant smile and left a piece of paper in front of him. “I get off at two.”

“You’re having all the luck tonight,” Keith joked.

“She’s all yours.” Noah laughed. “I think I need a break from women for a while.”

“That bad, huh?” Keith asked.

Elijah nodded. “Uh-huh.”

Keith grimaced.

They talked about the new hockey team that a nearby city was going to be forming.

“From what I understand, they got Ace Stanley to be the coach,” Elijah said.

“Ace is the best. The Manticores could use the competition. They win almost every match,” Keith said.

Noah wasn’t paying attention. A huge barrel of a man was hitting on a woman at the table next to them.

“I’m not interested in dancing and I can buy my own drinks,” she said, forcefully.

“You are obviously here for more than that,” he said, grabbing her arm. “Let’s dance.”

Noah walked over and said, “The lady said no. There are a lot of women here who would enjoy your company.”

“You need to mind your own business,” the man snarled.

“Just walk away,” Noah said.

He knew that Elijah and Keith were standing behind him.

“This doesn’t involve you,” the man growled, and he reached for the woman.
