Jade took one look at Olivia the morning after she and Zac had sex and broke out into a grin.

“How was it?” she asked.

“How was what?” Olivia asked, trying to play innocent.

“I know that you and Zac did the naughty,” Jade said. “Was he great?”

Olivia turned bright red and said, “Well, I can’t complain. I have nothing to compare him to.”

“He took your virginity?” Jade asked, her eyes opened wide. “Wow.”

“It’s not that big of a deal,” Olivia said. “It felt right.”

Jade looked at her and raised her eyebrows, inviting Olivia to keep talking.

“It was more than just sex. I felt like there was a real connection between us,” she said.

“Are you falling in love with him?” Jade asked.

“No, of course not. I don’t know him well enough to fall in love with him,” she said. “Besides, I can’t afford to have those kinds of feelings for him. If Declan decides that his pride is so important that he can’t let me live, I’ll have to run.”

It was a mistake to have sex with him, Olivia lamented. Stop. It’s done. It was so magical, both physically and spiritually. It will be a great memory to hold onto.

Jade’s voice broke through her thoughts. “Hopefully, he doesn’t want to come after you, and even if he does, he can’t figure out where you are.”

“I can only hope,” Olivia said, doubtfully.

“If you can stay, where do you think that your relationship with Zac will go? Did the sex help you two get everything out of your system, or is there a chance at something more?” Jade questioned.

“I don’t know,” Olivia said, miserably.

“What do you want?” Jade asked.

Olivia thought about it and said, “I honestly don’t know that, either.”

The bar started to get busy, so Olivia and Jade had to get to work.

“Hey, Beautiful,” one of the men said.

He was a big biker who was part of the Griffins. His red hair was wild, and he had bushy red eyebrows. The man looked like he was Chucky, the possessed doll, dressed in a biker jacket.

“Hello, Cliff. Are you having the usual?” Olivia asked.

“Yes. I would also like your phone number.”

“Sorry, that’s not on the menu,” Olivia said.

“You should go out with me. I could show you a good time,” he said.

“Sorry, I don’t think so. Besides, I don’t think that your wife would appreciate it, either,” Olivia said, pointing to the pale spot on his finger where he usually wore a ring.

“What she doesn’t know won’t hurt her,” Cliff said.

“Not going to happen, but I will bring you a beer,” Olivia retorted.

“I never know if people like him are serious or just messing around,” Olivia told Jade.

“I think he’s pushing the waters. If you said ‘yes’, though, he would be on you like white on rice.”
