“Hmmph,” was the reply.

Olivia carefully set the coffee on the edge of Tami’s desk and put the bag of pastries next to it. She was just about to leave when Zac stepped out of his office.

“Hey there. I wasn’t expecting you,” he said. “I didn’t hear you come in. I was on the phone.”

“I just thought that you might like some coffee and a snack,” Olivia said.

“Awesome. You must have been reading my mind,” he said.

Tami glared at them as Olivia followed Zac into his office and closed the door.

Zac must have seen the look because he asked, “What was that all about?”

“Oh, nothing. I’m pretty sure that she isn’t heading up my fan club,” Olivia said. “I hope I’m not bothering you. I guess the coffee and snacks are just an excuse. I wanted to see you.”

“I’m glad you came,” he said.

He locked the door and then pulled Olivia into his arms, kissing her. Their arms wrapped tightly around each other as their mouths expressed the passion and hunger they felt for each other.

“I’ve half a mind to simply knock everything off of my desk and make love to you here and now,” he whispered in her ear.

“I can list all kinds of practical reasons why you shouldn’t.” Olivia giggled.

“Oh, yeah? Like what?”

“For one, I’m sure that everything is organized. It would be a chaotic mess if you brushed it on the floor.”

“It will give Tami something to do besides interfere with my life and annoy me,” Zac said.

“The second is that neither of us is quiet. I’m pretty sure that everyone here would know what was going on,” Olivia said.

“Good. It will let Tami know that I’m not interested in her and let everyone else know that I’m having a good time with my girl,” Zac argued back. “They can stand there, listen, and be jealous.”

“I’m pretty sure that type of behavior wouldn’t be becoming of an alpha,” Olivia said.

“I don’t care. I’ve done a lot of things that the elders and my father don’t approve of. I may as well add one more to the list.”

As if to make his point, he growled and lightly bit her neck, making Olivia laugh.

He rubbed between her legs and said, “I can feel your heat. Tell me you don’t want me.”

“You know that I do,” she said, rubbing his package. “Just as I can tell that you want me. However, there is a time and place for everything.”

“Why do you have to be the voice of reason?” he asked, groaning.

“One of us has to,” she said.

He sat behind his desk and said, “I guess I’ll just have to sit here until things calm down. I can’t walk around with a hard on.”

“Just tie a sweater around your waist like the boys in high school used to. No one will know,” she teased.

“I can’t see that happening,” he said, shaking his head for emphasis.

“I guess that I’ll let you get back to work,” she said.

She leaned over and brushed a kiss across his cheeks. He grabbed for her, but she ducked away from him, laughing.

“Shut the door behind you, Vixen,” he said.
