Nico shook his head, and I closed the cabinet before taking the tiniest step back. If he told me to move, I would, but I couldn't convince myself to move away just yet.

He turned around without trying to leave the space between me and the counter, then glanced up at me, making me realize just how long his eyelashes were. I wanted to reach out and brush my finger against them.

More than that, I wanted to kiss Nico. His lips looked pink, soft, and utterly kissable, and with the way he was looking up at me, I didn't think I could resist the temptation. I was only human, after all.

I leaned forward, then realized our height difference was truly a lot. Maybe something different...

"Nico, can I kiss you?" I asked, and Nico's eyes lit up. His teeth dug into his lower lip, and I wanted to tug it free and tell him that I wanted to do that.

"Okay," Nico said, his voice a breathy whisper, and I smiled widely. Then, I grabbed him around the hips and hefted him up onto the counter.

"There. That's better," I said, brushing my nose against his now that we were at a similar height.

"You could've warned me," he mumbled with a shake of his head, and I chuckled.

"Sorry," I whispered into his ear, smiling when a shiver washed down his small frame. Pressing a soft kiss against his earlobe, I brushed my lips against his cheek before finally reaching his lips.

Nico's lips were as soft and plush as I'd expected, and I was gone the moment our lips touched. I'd intended to keep this kiss light and on the chaste side, but the fact that we were at home, and with the way Nico was pressed up against me, all my intentions went flying out the window.

I hummed when Nico's fingers slid through my hair, undoing the bun I'd put it in. My hair fell like a curtain around us, cocooning us in a tiny little world of our own.

I pulled back before things could get too intense, not because I didn't want to go further, but because I didn't want our first time to be in the kitchen. As much as Nico seemed to love this room, it wasn't where I wanted to do it.

"You're an amazing kisser," Nico said when I pulled back, and I grinned.

"You're not bad either," I said as I pushed my hair away from my eyes. Nico eyed my hair, then reached out and slid his fingers through the strands.

"One of these days, I want to play with your hair. It's so silky and long. I really like it," he said, and I smiled.

Leaning forward, I pressed a peck on his lips. "You can play with my hair anytime you want."

Nico smiled widely, and my heart skipped a beat. Fuck, he was so beautiful. How had I gotten lucky enough to end up with not one but three drop-dead gorgeous men? Was I a saint in my previous life?

My stomach chose that moment to growl loudly, and my eyes widened as Nico broke into chuckles.

"Sounds like you're hungry," he said, patting my stomach for good measure. "Get back. I'll make dinner."

"I'll assist," I said as I stepped back, and Nico jumped off the counter before I could offer him help.

"I'd like that, thanks!" he said, smiling brightly at me, and I smiled back at him as butterflies took flight in my belly.

After the day we'd had, I was looking forward to hanging out with everyone again at dinner. As much as I loved one-on-one time with Nico, Star, and Ryk, I equally enjoyed spending time with all of them. Our dinner together was my favorite part on workdays, and it kept me going on days I wanted to quit.

"Can you grab a few potatoes for me?" Nico asked, and I threw myself into the role of his assistant, enjoying every minute of it.

Ryk

It was finally here.

Today was the day we'd tell Dakota what we really were. I was super nervous, but also excited. I wanted to show my demon side to Dakota. I wanted to take him flying, and show him all the cool things I could do with my magic.

We'd decided to tell him after breakfast since none of us—especially me—had the ability to keep calm now that we'd decided to spill. Breakfast itself was a quiet event because I felt nervous, and apparently, so did the others. Dakota had shot me a few quizzical looks as we ate, but he hadn't questioned me.

After breakfast, Nico and Star quickly cleaned up in the kitchen while I dragged Dakota into the living room.

"Is something wrong?" Dakota asked, a frown on his face. He'd clearly sensed something was up, and I wasn't going to insult him by trying to deny it.
