Nissa definitely wasn’t my type from all the wild stories Ciarra had told me, and I obviously wasn’t hers seeing as how the guy she danced with was my polar opposite looks-wise.

What was Ciarra thinking?

That cliff I’d felt myself approaching loomed closer, and a sense of danger prickled across my scalp. Wariness rose inside me. While self-preservation should have brought out my lighter persona in order to escape, I couldn’t rouse that Leo to the surface.

“I’m cutting in!” Ciarra announced, all chipper and breathless with giggles. Sliding in between her sister and the tattoo dude, she broke them apart. “Nissa, Leo. Leo, Nissa, my brat twin sister,” she introduced with a wave of her hand between us.

Ciarra spun a startled new partner away from me and her sister who growled a curse under her breath.

Swallowing hard, I looked down at the tiny thing in front of me standing with her hands on her hips. Brown eyes with flecks of gold tore off Ciarra and flashed up at me, tying my tongue. Even if I’d hoped to joke my way out of the uncomfortable situation, Nissa obliterated that feigned part of me with one glance.

A smirk slowly lifted a corner of her lips as the irritation dissolved from her face. “Well, well, well.” Her eyes took a slow once-over of my body.

Every inch of me tightened beneath her lingering perusal down my blue shirt and tie and black dress pants even as she relaxed, draining of the annoyance she’d exhibited toward her sister for breaking up her dance.

“Aren’t you a tasty morsel.” She breathed the words with enough suggestion that my waking groin took note.

“I-I’m sorry?” I choked out, sure I’d heard her wrong—all while reminding my dick I did not like forward girls who promised drama galore.

Nissa pressed in close to me with a purr, wrapping her arms around my neck, making herself right at home in my personal space. The scent of coconuts swarmed over me, and my nostrils flared in an attempt to suck her deeper into my lungs.

My hands found her slim waist without thought, and I told myself it was because we were on a dance floor surrounded by dozens of other couples swaying to the music, not because I lusted for a taste of her.

The heat of her skin radiated through the silk separating my palms and fingertips from contact, and I had to fight off a sudden, possessive rush of want.

“Mmm.” She wiggled the slightest bit, brushing over my cock that had a mind of his own. “Tell me you have a tattoo somewhere on this gorgeous body.”

Her husky tone and the softness against my groin caused my brain to buzz better than any alcohol. I couldn’t find it in myself to make light of her question. “Um…no?”

“A piercing down below?”

I grimaced, but even the idea of a needle getting close to my cock didn’t help it deflate. “Hell no.”

“Are you any good between the sheets?” she asked, one manicured eyebrow rising in a provocative arch.

I stared, fighting to find a reply while silently telling my libido to fuck off.

Ciarra’s twin was nothing but a siren set on reeling in a man’s heart and clawing it to shreds before tossing him to the side.

“I’ve never heard a complaint,” I heard myself state the truth.

A smart man would have ended the dance and walked away. My brain had its shit together, but my body refused to seek out safety.

“Hmm.” Nissa’s gaze narrowed, but the heat of lust didn’t fade from her eyes. “Are you a humble guy…or just confident?”

Telling her I was both wouldn’t appear humble at all, and even though my instincts yelled for me to flee, she’d already snagged my attention enough that I stubbornly stayed put regardless of the warning bells clanging in my head.

Besides, taking off and leaving her alone on the crowded dance floor of starry-eyed couples would draw attention to her and might embarrass her. And if nothing else since my moody nature had taken center stage, I was definitely a gentleman.

“How long are you here for?” I asked, deciding to focus on small talk until the song ended and I could escape her tantalizing eyes and sensuous mouth.

Her slow smile returned as her dark lashes fluttered. “Hasn’t my perfect little sister told you? I moved here three days ago.”

Shit.

Again with the intentional pressing of our lower bodies—her fault, not mine as I tried to keep swaying in time with the music.

I stared down at Nissa while she continued to smile up at me, her eyes luminous and flirty enough to heat my blood even though I warned my dick off the woman.
