The four giant men move away, with reluctant glances over their shoulders. I make a mental note to spit in their drinks as I get to my feet and brush the dirt and dust off my knees.

The guy with the leather jacket turns to me, and I go still. His skin is olive, and his black hair is cut close to his scalp. He’s got huge honey-coloured eyes and this thick muscular body. I know him. Of course, I know him.

“Stalker.” I whisper in awe.

His lips curl upwards, and I bite the inside of my cheek and try really hard not to throw myself into his arms. It’s such a welcome relief to see a familiar face.

“Mr Dylan, can I offer you an escort to your room?” Simon says.

My boss looks between us with a polite frown. His slicked back hair is perfect, and the white shirt with the logo looks as pristine as it did twelve hours ago. Simon is my goals.

The man in question shakes his head, with his eyes still locked on me. He doesn’t even remove his gaze from mine when Silver rises from the pool.

The lemon scent wraps around me, and I hear Silver growl. I turn towards her and see the way she’s staring at him. My eyes go wide. No way. How did I miss that?

Holy hell, he’s an omega.

The budding, ridiculous hope that I’ve had over the last few months shatters like brittle glass. He’s so far out of my reach, he may as well be on the moon.

“All right, fine, but you’re explaining to them what’s going on,” Simon says and transfers his gaze to mine. “And you broke the rules. Come with me and bring your sister as well.” He reaches out to one of the chairs scattered around the pool and grabs a towel. He throws it at me.

I wrap it around Silver and quickly usher her after Simon. My sister is quiet. I think she’s finally realised she’s done something wrong.

My stomach bottoms out, though. I should beg and plead, but I don’t even know what to say. I did the wrong thing. This is all my fault. I'm supposed to protect her, and instead I’ve doomed us both.

What are we going to do? A crack of a stick behind me has me turning, and I’m startled to find the omega, Dylan, following us. My heart jolts, and that sick mix of giddiness and anxiety causes me to almost trip. I catch myself easily but feel my whole body heat.

“Dylan?” I ask stiffly as we follow Simon.

“Yes, I’m Dylan Wyrven.”

“Onyx Davies. And my sister Silver.” I admit softly.

He reaches out and clutches my fingers, giving them a squeeze before he lets me go. We don’t say another word, which is good because I don’t even know what to say.

He’s an omega, so he obviously doesn’t work here. Or at the parties I've seen him at. But why is he homeless and starving?

Simon leads us into his office. “Take a seat.” He lifts his phone and presses a button. “Sir, I have a situation here. Of course, we’ll wait for you.”

We wait in silence for ten minutes when the office door opens, and a huge alpha enters the room. The power that radiates off the man makes my knees tremble. He eases behind Simon’s desk and sits down, staring at us.

He barely looks at me, but spends a long time studying my sister and Dylan. This alpha is really attractive, with a Mediterranean look about him with a thick head of hair and exotic eyes. He’s not as pretty as the omega beside me, but he’s compelling in his own sense.

“You can’t stay here like this, omega.”

I think he’s talking to the male, but then I realise he’s addressing Silvie. My twin reaches for my hand and clings to it. But then she straightens up, drops my hand, and sniffs. I catch the moment she catches his scent. Her body language dips into a supple, relaxed state, and her eyelids drop. Her candy scent fills the air, stronger than before.

“I've got nowhere else to go.” She barely whispers.

“What do you want in life?” He asks and leans back in the chair, his eyes flick to the male omega but completely pass over me.

“I want a pack, a family, a home.” Silver lists off. I’m not even really listening to her. I’m too busy observing the alpha. What does he want here? Why does her answer make him smile in such a fake way? He’s subtle in testing the air, but he is doing it. Does he like her scent? I hate the idea of him wanting Silver, but I can’t pinpoint why. It just feels wrong.

“I can give you those things.” He says in a seductive croon.

He drops that bomb and leaves it hanging. The guy beside me goes as stiff and still as I do.

Silver’s eyes bulge, and she lets out a tinkling laugh that makes me want to kill her. It’s flirtatious and coy.
