As I pay the bill and lead her out of the restaurant, my mind is racing with possibilities. Outside, I take her by the waist and pull her close to me before kissing her deeply. She kisses me back with a hunger that I know all too well: it's the same hunger that I feel for her.

I release her from my embrace and take her hand as we head back to the car. The drive is quiet, but it's not a tense silence. We're both lost in our thoughts, enjoying each other's company even when we're not talking.

When we arrive at my place, I help Mia out of the car and lead her up to my front door. Unlocking it, I let her in first before following her inside.

"Tonight has been... perfect," Mia sighs, gazing up at me.

I reach up and caress her cheek. "Well, then. We'll have to do it again sometime. Soon."

She nods eagerly, lips parting with anticipation as I lean down and kiss her deeply. It's like we're both on the same page, both feeling the same pull towards each other. All I can think about is how I want more.

MIA

Antonio's kiss gives me butterflies, and I'm so lost in the sensation that I don't hear the sound of footsteps coming down the hall.

"Ahem."

Antonio and I pull apart to see Xavier standing in the entry with his arms crossed over his chest, presenting himself like a disappointed father who just caught his kids sneaking back into the house.

"Were we too loud?" Antonio asks, not bothering to bite back his smug grin.

"Yes," he deadpans, letting tension seep into the atmosphere.

We obviously weren't being loud at all, leading me to wonder if Xavier has been waiting for us to get back.

"I'm sure you have some business to take care of?" Xavier prompts Antonio, now acting as his employer rather than his friend.

Antonio sighs in resignation, then nodding. He turns toward me and kisses me once more. "Another time, sweetheart."

I nod, watching him walk down the hall and turn into a room, closing the door firmly behind him. Then I turn back toward Xavier, who is watching me with a tough, guarded expression. Having appeared out of nowhere and dismissed Antonio... maybe he's jealous? He does seem a bit possessive.

I smile, putting my hands on my hips. "Mister Big Bad Wolf, are you jealous?"

Xavier's expression instantly hardens, his jaw tensing. "Jealous?" Xavier scoffs, but I can see the flicker of emotion in his eyes. "Don't be ridiculous, Mia."

His eyes bore into mine, but his words are unconvincing. There's a hint of bitterness in his tone that gives him away.

I raise an eyebrow, not buying it for a second. "Oh, come on. You can't tell me you're not at least a little bit jealous."

"I'm not," he insists, but his voice is now strained.

I shake my head and chuckle, knowing exactly how to get under his skin. "You know what? You're actually kinda cute when you're jealous," I tease him with a sly smile.

His composure falters for a moment before he regains control and scowls at me. "I'm not jealous," he repeats, enunciating each word as if to convince himself more than me.

"Sure you're not," I tease, trailing a finger down his chest. "But if you were... I wouldn't mind."

He inhales sharply at my touch, and for a moment, I think he might give in. But then he steps back, putting distance between us.

"That was inappropriate," he says stiffly.

"Inappropriate?" I arch an eyebrow. "Isn't it more inappropriate to spy on us like that?"

"I wasn't spying," he protests weakly.

"Sure you weren't." I smirk at him. "You know, Xavier... There's only one thing more attractive than a woman who sees what she wants and goes after it. Do you know what it is?"
