I shrugged and motioned for him to enter the living area. “I honestly don’t know yet. I think I’m fine. But then again, I haven’t left the house yet, so?—”

Korry nodded, then ran a hand through his hair. “Yeah. That’ll be different. Especially given your public profile.”

“I’m trying not to freak out about all the what ifs. But apparently I need a bodyguard for a while.”

“It’s a good idea. Better to be safe.”

“Have a seat. Coffee or tea?” I asked.

“Tea, please. Milk, one sugar.”

“I’ll be right back.”

I heard Reed coming down the stairs as I made my way into the kitchen.

By the time I got the tea ready and headed back out to join them, Reed and Korry were already deep in discussion.

But unlike the other night, when I made a total ass of myself, I wasn’t jealous.

Okay, maybe I was still a bit jealous. Possessive as hell is more like it.

And with good reason.

Because Reed loved me. He loved me.

Holy fucking shit.

It was going to take a while for that to sink in.

My hands were anything but steady and the tray I was carrying rattled until I set it down on the table. I glanced at Reed, and he was staring back at me with a lusty gaze, like he wanted to get naked right now. Fuck, I did not need to pop a boner in front of our guest.

Glancing away, I offered Reed and Korry each a cup, then took my own and tried to get my brain to focus.

“I’ve never had a bodyguard before. I mean, occasionally as an escort to awards and things, but not full time. Does this mean you’re going to move in with us?” I asked.

“I can. If you want. But I don’t think it’s necessary. Not while we’re here. But I will be on hand any time you need to go out during the day—to the set, dinner, shopping. Just in case you run into a fan who’s less than thrilled at the latest news that you’re in a relationship with a man.”

“I can’t believe I need to do this,” I grumbled.

“It’s temporary. And a precaution.”

“We’re here in the UK for another few weeks then back to L.A. How long do you think I’ll need you?” I asked.

“I’d recommend that I travel back to the U.S. and stay a few weeks. If everything is quiet, then I’m done.”

“I’d hate for you to travel all that way for nothing.”

“It’s not a problem. I have another job in the U.S. that starts in three months, so the timing is perfect.”

“Another celebrity?” Reed asked.

“Can’t say. But sort of.” Korry leaned forward. “Between you and me, it’s a gig in the sporting world. Race cars.”

“That sounds much more exciting than following me around,” I quipped.

Korry laughed. “I’m pretty chuffed about it. I gotta thing for fast cars.”

“Adrenaline junkie?” Reed asked.
