“A few months ago. We didn’t want to say anything until we decided to be exclusive,” Henn replied, her face flushed.

She looked at Charlene and I was shocked to see Charlene smiling in return.

“Congrats,” Tate repeated. “I’ve never seen Charlene look happy before. It must be love.”

“It is. And we thought you guys could use the added support tonight. For you, and for us,” Charlene paused and gifted us with her rare smile. “I’ve been out for years but this is new for Henn.”

I was so moved by their gesture of support. Tate too, judging by the way he swallowed hard.

I squeezed his hand and he glanced at me, his eyes filled with warmth.

Korry stepped up beside me and his sudden appearance jolted me out of my musings.

“Oh, sorry, this is our bodyguard, Korry Doyle,” I offered. “Korry, our agent Henn, and her girlfriend, our favorite casting director, Charlene.”

After the introductions were done, we hopped in the limo and headed to the event.

The closer we got to the venue, the bigger the traffic jam.

When we finally arrived, there was the usual wall of photographers and fans lining the street.

No matter how many junkets, premiers, and award shows I’d been to, the first flash was always jarring.

And you think one is bad? Try fifty or more going off at the same time. Even for experienced actors, it took a lot of practice not to flinch.

Tate and I stepped out of the limo and waved to the crowd. Cheers and hollers rang out.

So far, so good.

When Tate took my hand, the volume of shouts and call outs increased exponentially.

Then he stepped closer, wrapping his right arm around my waist, and pulling me in tight. His claiming gesture made my heart pound so fast and wild that I thought for sure I might faint.

Swelling with pride, I wrapped my arm around him in turn.

No space in between us.

With one embrace, and without saying a word, Tate and I said it all.

More flashes, more shouts, more smiles. I turned my head to face him, our noses almost touching.

There was no mistaking how we looked at each other.

Our love was there for everyone to see.

It was surreal but so fucking right.

And for once, I was going to track down every single photo from tonight’s event so we would have a memory of this moment.

“You and me, baby,” Tate reminded me with an intimate smile.

“I’m so fucking proud of you. I love you.”

“I love you more.”

Korry, Henn, and Charlene stepped up beside us and ushered us down the line for more photos and the start of interviews.

The first reporter didn’t waste any time.
