I was all for that.

Our lips met in a heated kiss that was long and languid.

The perfect wake up call.

Until there was a knock on our bedroom door.

“Sorry to interrupt, but Henn is here!” Korry called out.

“Fuck,” Tate grunted and slowly rolled off me. “We’ll be out in five minutes!”

I reached out and cupped his jaw, rubbing his beard.

“Later,” he promised me, taking hold of my hand and kissing my fingers.

By the time we got dressed and headed out to see Henn, I was fully awake but still tired, emotionally wrung out.

Henn was sitting at the island talking to Korry and sipping on a cup of tea. I gave her a hug and sat down beside her.

Korry clapped his hands together. “Well, I’m off to pack.”

“Thanks for the tea, Kor,” Henn replied.

“Ta.” He nodded and left the three of us in the kitchen.

“Henn, I hope there’s a very good reason why you’re in our house so early in the morning,” Tate grumbled as he headed for the coffee machine.

“Our house?” she repeated with one eyebrow raised.

“You didn’t notice all the boxes?” I replied.

“Oh, I noticed. I just wanted to hear Tate confirm it,” she smiled. “And I’m here because I had to drop off updated contracts for you to sign. I also wanted to let you know that we finally figured out who took that photo. It was one of the makeup crew, some guy named Landon Barnes. Turns out, his brother-in-law works for the tabloid that ran the story.”

“I wish I could say I’m surprised,” Tate scoffed. “But I’m not.”

Henn nodded. “Jared’s production company is taking legal action since he violated his contract. Do you want to join the suit?”

Tate looked at me. “Baby, what do you think?”

I sighed. “I don’t know if it’s the right time to ask me that question.”

Not after the week I’d had.

“Oh shit, Reed, I’m so sorry. I didn’t think—” Henn started and placed her hand on mine.

“It’s okay,” I squeezed her hand. “Really, I’m fine. Now that the criminal trial is done, we’re taking Saks to civil court, so I’ll have to prepare myself for that. And yeah, I’ve been down the lawsuit road before. It takes a long time. It’s a lot of expense too, but sometimes you have to take a stand.”

Tate finished making his coffee and took the first sip, nodding. “We’re in. If only to make a point. And I better not see that guy in or around a movie set ever again.”

“You and Jared both,” Henn replied and reached for her purse. She pulled out a thick envelope and left it on the counter. “Your movie contract offers.”

Tate nodded. “I’ll look them over and drop them off this week.”

Tate put his cup down and walked around the island to stand beside me. I slid my arm around his waist.

“Or I could wait, there’s only—” Henn started and then paused when she glanced at us. “Yes. Later this week is fine.”

“Now, if you’ll excuse us,” Tate cleared his throat. “We would like to be alone.”
