The drinks were flowing, the music was pumping, and everyone was laughing and having a good time. Everywhere I looked, I saw smiling faces as my family celebrated the upcoming New Year.

2024 was gearing up to be a fun, wild year from the looks of things.

My brothers were happy. Three of the women were pregnant, and King was happy with the latest Hell’s Breath formula.

Overall, it was a win-win in my book.

Sitting at a table, nursing my beer, I watched as Bailey, Henley, and Skylar laughed at their men while they tried unsuccessfully to play darts. Even I chuckled when King went to throw his dart, only to hit Pyro in the arm, which turned into a wrestling match. Could have told Pyro that he wouldn’t win, but he was already three sheets to the wind.

Freyja and her sisters danced to the music while Devlyn, Henley’s sister, sat with Sugar Potter and Claudia, who was on her fifth drink of the night.

Yeah, I knew I shouldn’t be keeping count, but I wanted to make sure she was okay. She was always taking care of everyone else. I thought I’d help out tonight.

“Mind if I sit here?” Sarah asked, looking at me.

Nodding, I pulled out a chair for her to sit. Sarah was a sweet woman and the love of Gunner’s life. When the two got together, it caused a minor problem, but Gunner figured it out before Sarah’s father, Mike, shot him with his sniper rifle. “Why aren’t you dancing or gabbing with the others?”

“Too tired. The babies are still not sleeping through the night.”

“Who is with them?”

“Gunner. He’s trying to calm Cassandra down. She has a bit of colic. Why aren’t you over there with everyone else?”

“No one wants me over there. I’ll just put a dampener on their fun.”

“Frank,” Sarah faced me, “you are the most loved brother in this club. All the brothers respect the hell out of you and the girls adore you. There is no Sons of Hell Motorcycle Club without you, Frank. You deserve to be happy and have fun too.”

Blushing, I looked away, and caught sight of Claudia laughing.

Smiling, I watched while she threw her head back in merriment. Her face lighting up with whatever tickled her.

God, she was so beautiful.

“Why don’t you go talk to her?”

Turning back to the pretty woman, I asked, “Talk to who?”

“Claudia. I see the way you look at her. It’s the same way she looks at you. You know Claudia isn’t seeing anyone. Why don’t you ask her to dance?”

I gulped, quickly shaking my head. “She doesn’t want to dance with me.”

“How do you know if you don’t ask her?” the pretty young mother said as Bailey squealed loudly when Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee’s ‘Despacito’ came over the speakers. From the moment the catchy song dropped, all the girls fell in love with it and demanded the brothers dance with them every time they heard it.

Even I had to admit it was a catchy tune.

Getting to her feet, Sarah leaned closer and whispered, “Go ask her, Frank. I can guarantee you she will say yes.”

Blinking, I nodded when Sarah walked over to Gunner, who was walking down the stairs with a smile on his face.

Turning back to look at Claudia, I wondered if she would.

Dance with me, that is.

I wasn’t the best dancer, not like Priest.

Or the most eloquent, like King, or personable, like Scribe.

In fact, I was the most socially awkward brother in the club.
