“You know him?”

“He was the T.A. on one of Seth’s classes a while back.”

He gives E.A. a slightly less suspicious glance.

“He works with E.A. now,” I tell him. “Spencer’s out questioning the dessert stand guy. He’s E.A.’s partner and my other Alpha true mate.”

It sounds so strange to be matter of factly stating this stuff, but it also makes me feel good.

I have true mates. Two of them are Alphas.

That’s kind of insane.

I never would have predicted it.

If anyone had asked me what I thought about Alphas a few days ago, I would have said they ruined my life, and I would have believed that, wholeheartedly.

Now? I’m not going to say my trauma came from nowhere, but good things have come to me at the same time. I have Secret, and I also found four true mates when I decided to take a shot at the job of my dreams.

“Come in,” Secret tells me, giving Cassidy a playful shove.

He moves, sighing. “Seth’s going to kill me for this.”

Secret shoves her glasses up and rolls her eyes. “I wouldn’t let him, and I don’t care if Seth feels like another Alpha being in the apartment is stepping on his toes. I want to be able to have my sis … Leanne over, with her mates, whenever she wants.”

She definitely still thinks of me as her older sister.

I try not to let it get to me. I know she hasn’t spent her whole life knowing the truth and hiding it, like I have. It’s going to take a while to get used to the truth, and, honestly, she might never be fully comfortable with it. I mean, she went twenty years seeing me as her sister. That’s not something that can be changed overnight.

Or, over two months, like it’s been so far.

Secret holds the door open, and Cassidy moves back.

We walk inside, and Dylan appears at the kitchen door, curious gaze moving over E.A.

“Interesting,” he murmurs, before flashing us a smile. “Hey. We have our laptops on through here if you want to compare what your friend sent to what we have.”

“That’s what we’re here for,” I tell him. “Thanks, Dylan.”

“No problem,” he says as he moves back into the kitchen.

I follow him into the room and set my backpack down on the floor in front of the kitchen cupboards. He brings up Secret’s emails on her laptop screen, and I can see he has one of Beth’s social media accounts open on his.

E.A. stays close to me as I look over Dylan’s shoulder. There isn’t that much room, so he’s half squished against the wall and ends up wrapping his other arm around my waist and tugging me against him when Dylan accidentally moves his chair back instead of forward.

“Sorry,” Dylan murmurs.

E.A. frowns but he doesn’t say anything.

Secret pulls the chairs out and moves the laptops so everyone can sit down and see what they see.

“Beth hasn’t been posting much about dates, but it turns out she is friends with a lot of the guys from class, so we’ve been checking their accounts. A few of them are guys she already ditched within the last couple of months.”

We all sit down, and she brings up the file Toshi sent a few minutes ago.

“Okay,” she murmurs. “Not him. Not him.”

She stops at one of the files. “This could be one of the more recent guys.”
