We can’t make any assumptions. The last time Leanne left it was because Secret’s friend needed help. We can’t assume she went to Anchor West.

E.A. heads down to the office.

“What do you need me to do?” Toshi asks, looking vaguely panicked.

“Your shirt’s on backwards,” I tell him. “Fly’s undone. Finish getting dressed. We’re going to find out where Leanne is, and then we’re going to go out and get her. That’s all.”

Toshi takes off his shirt and drops it. Echo picks it up and puts it right before he helps Toshi put it back on.

“All good now,” Echo tells him as he fixes Toshi’s jeans.

Echo looks back at me with worried eyes. “Do we call Leanne directly?”

“Maybe we text her. From a burner phone.”

Everything we do needs to be done with a certain element of caution.

It’s bad enough if she’s in that building right now.

We can’t do anything that might make Harlan West suspect she’s our mate.

Right now, for all he knows, she’s Frank Palmer’s last surviving victim.

We don’t want to give him any more reasons to target her. We can risk him making a move to hurt her before we get the chance to get her the hell out of that building.

“We’re all heading down to the office,” I tell Toshi and Echo. “Echo, you lock the apartment door behind us.”

Toshi still seems half asleep. I think he’s in shock, but he’ll get over it.

When we get down to the office, E.A.’s got a list in his hand.

“Secret’s number. We should ask her to get the coalition involved if Leanne went into Anchor West. If nothing else, we can gather a lot of muscle to help storm the building.”

I nod. “Call her.”

E.A. nods, darting to the phone at Echo’s desk.

“Toshi, see if you can find a camera feed that shows where she went.”

Got to cover the bases. Make sure we’re not jumping to conclusions.

“Right,” Toshi says, nodding. “Oh, wait. I left my laptop upstairs …”

“There’s a spare on the desk in my office,” I tell him.

“Oh, yeah. I forgot. Cool,” he says, darting toward my office.

“Echo …” I start, trailing off as soon as I realize we can’t bring our Omega anywhere near those damned offices. “I’m going to need you to stay here and take care of Toshi. Doesn’t seem like he’s doing so well.”

“Sure,” Echo says. “Leave us weaklings here while you hero Alphas go rescue the girl.”

He’s joking, so I know he’s worried.

“We’ll bring her back. We’re not going to let that asshole take our woman.”

“If you get the chance, gut that bastard Harlan West and tell him to rot in hell for me.”

“If I get a chance, I’ll take it,” I assure him.
