Toshi and Ryan look up from their screens.

Seth is hovering over them, still looking.

“How long do we think extractions will take?” I ask.

“A couple hours, maybe,” Seth answers. “The list has a few addresses that aren’t super close, but we have Alphas in those areas that we can send. You want me to start sending them now? Or wait for these two to finish the last list?”

“Better finish,” I admit. “We don’t want to risk missing a victim. There have been too many multiples.”

“Right,” Toshi says. “Some of those addresses have two or three victims.”

“Almost half of them do,” Ryan corrects him. “I feel like I’m learning how sick the world really is right now.”

“And that’s coming from one of Frank Palmer’s kids,” Toshi adds.

“He was one guy,” Ryan says. “This is way more fucked up than that.”

“He’s not wrong,” Seth mutters.

“What about Harlan?” I ask.

Seth raises an eyebrow at me. “What about him?”

“Where do Victor’s team have him?”

“They didn’t tell me, why?”

“I want to talk to him.”

“I can ask Corbin to come take you to him, but if you’re gonna kill him, it won’t be a smart move to involve the press and the cops.”

“I don’t want to kill him.”

That might not be true, but I’m fairly sure I won’t actually attempt to kill him.

I don’t have it in me to kill someone.

“I’ll ask Victor,” Seth says.

“Thanks,” I tell him.

“Don’t thank me. He hasn’t said yes, yet.”

He gets out his phone and I step back into the main office.

Echo comes over to where I’m standing. “It feels weird that we won’t be a part of the extractions.”

“The cops can’t know we know about those,” I remind him. “It’s safer if we’re not involved.”

“Because the rich assholes we’re trying to get put away might point fingers, right?”

I shrug. “They might. Hopefully, it won’t matter what they do. If we release the full list to the press, and suddenly the whole world knows they’re abusive assholes, it’ll be much harder for judges to take pay offs or grant leniency.”

I’m a little worried about the footage Leanne wants to release of Harlan threatening her in his office.

She doesn’t like that everyone knows her name because she was Frank Palmer’s final surviving victim, and this is only going to make her even easier to recognise.

Echo glances at Seth as he appears next to us.
