“I’ll grab my purse,” I tell them. “We’re going back to your office. I need to have a long talk with E.A.”

I pour the barely touched coffees down the drain and leave the mugs in the sink.

Then, I go into the bedroom, put on sneakers and pick up my purse.

After a few seconds of debate, I take a fresh set of underwear and a spare toothbrush and stuff them into the purse. It’s already late afternoon. If I end up over there late, I’m staying.

I feel safe around Echo, and Spencer doesn’t bother me as much as most Alphas do.

If they can suffer being around E.A., he can’t be as bad as he made himself seem.

I put my phone’s charger into my purse and then I step back into the living room.

“I’m ready,” I tell them. “I hope you guys know good takeout places, because I’m starting to get hungry, and you really don’t want to know me when I’m underfed.”

Echo smiles. “Spencer gets hangry, too. Don’t worry. We have the best Thai place in town on speed dial, and if that’s not your thing there’s a great pizza bar around the corner.”

“As long as it’s food, I’m eating it,” I tell them, since I’ve never tried Thai and the only bad pizza is burnt to a crisp pizza.

“Don’t say that around Toshi,” Echo warns me as we head out of the apartment.

I raise my eyebrow at him. “Toshi?”

“Oh, right,” he murmurs, looking at Spencer.

“The Chinese guy with the blue hair,” Spencer says. “You realized he was following you …”

“He gave me a business card that said his name was Ted.”

“We all have a few fake cards,” Echo says. “My pseudonyms are Gary the IT guy and Dave the handyman.”

“We didn’t know he was following you,” Spencer says. “That was on E.A.”

Makes sense. He’s the one who was watching me. He knew I’d been into Anchor West.

I take my keys out and close the door behind us.

“Are you really sure about this?” Spencer asks, looking me in the eye for a long moment.

This guy is actually one of the most attractive men I’ve ever met in real life.

He looks like he could be a movie star with that chiselled jawline and those pale, sparkling blue eyes.

I had no idea blue-eyed blondes could make me go weak at the knees.

I’ve always been more into guys with darker hair.

“I’m really sure about this,” I answer.

He sighs and nods before he looks away.

I feel my face warming as I lock the door.

No catching feelings for these guys, Leanne.

They’ve clearly already got something going on with each other.

Falling for either of them would be a mistake. I know that.
