I reached behind my neck to pull off my t-shirt in one swipe, then slipped off my boots. I was just unbuckling my belt when Eryn looked over at me. Her eyes widened for just a second before she schooled her expression and gave me a sweet smile. Seemed like she was always smiling sweet. I don’t know why that infuriated me, but it did.

I wanted to wipe that smile off her face with my lips. For starters.

I pulled my jeans off, leaving me in nothing but a pair of navy blue boxer briefs, a smirk of satisfaction playing on my face when I caught Eryn watching me and visibly gulp.

Without a word, I strode into the water, feeling the cool rush against my skin as I made my way to where Eryn and her friends were. Their laughter filled the air, a stark contrast to the white noise of the waterfall.

Eryn's gaze lingered on me as I neared, a hint of curiosity and something else in her eyes that made me clench my jaw. She stood there, the water reaching mid-chest. My eyes shamelessly raked over her and took in every detail. Her slicked back hair, the goosebumps covering her arms, the water droplets clinging to her skin like diamonds under the sun's rays.

It was infuriating how effortlessly she commanded attention without even trying.

“You decided to join us after all?” Eryn's voice broke through my thoughts, her tone laced with amusement. Or maybe it was just general kindness. Eryn was kind. Too damn sweet.

“Just making sure no one drowns on my watch,” I grumbled, not willing to admit that a part of me wanted to be closer to her, to see those amber eyes up close.

“Very noble of you. But I promise, we’re all excellent swimmers.”

“I bet.”

Zaya and Skylar exchanged a knowing glance, both trying to hide their amusement. I ignored them and focused on Eryn, who seemed unfazed.

“Well, now that you're here to save the day, Gray, care to join us for a race?” Eryn's playful smile was infectious.

“A race?”

“Sure,” she said pointing, “from that end, to the back of the falls.”

Zaya smirked. “Oh yes, Eryn is such a fast swimmer, there’s no way you can beat her.”

“I don’t know, the man has some muscles on him,” Skylar said, equally smirky.

“But Eryn is more aerodynamica.” Enzo said, appearing from behind the girls like a shark.

I wasn’t an idiot. I knew this was bait. But I was falling for it, hook, line, and sinker.

“Alright, Blake. You’re on.”

She jumped up in delight, and I tried to ignore the way the water splashed at her tits.

We swam to the edge of the water and waited for the three amigos to stop gossiping.

“You almost done?” I called at them.

Eryn laughed. A light, musical sound that for some reason made my chest tight.

“Don’t feel bad if I totally dominate,” she said, her soft voice tinged with humor. I grunted and ignored the thoughts of Eryn dominating me in all sorts of ways that had suddenly filled my brain.

The others backed up against the edge of the water, leaving a clear path for us to race to the falls.

“Ready?” Skylar yelled. “Get set!”

I looked over one more time and couldn’t help but smile at the determined look on Eryn’s face.

“Go!”

She beat me off the block. But I didn’t mind. I wasn’t gonna let her win, but a head start never hurt anyone.

I pushed forward, a thrill rushing through me as the cold water closed in around me. It was invigorating, and I had to admit, I felt more alive right now than I had in months.
