I can’t help but blush at his words.

“You do have a good eye,” I tell him.

“Of course, I do. Now we need to get you shoes,” he says, clapping his hands excitedly.

“What about your tux?” I ask. I would hate to mess up any plans he has today.

“We can get that too. I have all day,” he says, waving his hand around.

“I like you,” Christina says, linking her arm with his.

“Guess we are spending the day together,” I say with a laugh and head back to the dressing room to change back into my regular clothes.

“I’m going to be your new best friend. You won’t be able to get rid of me now,” Greg shouts so I can hear him from the change room.

“You can’t replace me,” Christina hisses at him.

“Oh, I’m not looking to replace. Think of me more like an add on; an extension,” Greg says.

“Alright. Do we have any other best friends we need to know about?” Christina says like this is a normal conversation.

“I have my one bestie who moved here with me. When I got the job, the money was too good to pass up, so he came with me since he hated his job anyways. He’s out job hunting right now.” Greg says.

I head out of the change room holding my dress and hand it to the sales lady, letting her know that I will be buying it. She eyes me up and down in disbelief.

Alright, I get it. I don’t dress like I have lots of money. My outfits are usually based on comfort, but fuck this bitch for looking at me this way.

“We are still shopping, so hold that at the register for me,” I say coldly.

Greg and Christina narrow their eyes at the sales associate.

After that, I get Greg to pick out his tux, Christina to pick out a dress for the heck of it, and we all get the accessories to go with it.

The woman looks at us with narrowed eyes like she doesn’t believe we are going to actually buy this shit.

I tell her to get the manager. She does, but not before she rolls her eyes.

The manager comes over, smiling at us, and he grins when he sees me. “Aubrey dear, how are you?” he asks, walking up to us.

“Great. We want to make a purchase, but the judgemental look from your employee is making me want to go somewhere else,” I say.

He glares over at the woman. “If you knew anything, you would know this woman is the sister of the four most eligible bachelor’s in the city. Plus, her new man was also the fifth until she took him off the market. She could afford to buy everything in this store and still have plenty of money left over. What did I tell you about judging people based on their appearance?”

“I’m sorry,” she starts, but he cuts her off. “I don’t want to hear it. Go sort out the new stock while I wring Miss Kingsley and her friends through.”

Her face falls, but she looks over at me and I see the guilty, regretful look in her eye before she turns and walks away.

“Sorry about her. Good help is hard to find,” the manager says.

“Hey, if you are looking for new employees, my roommate is job hunting right now,” Greg says speaking up.

“Get him to stop by and I will interview him,” the manager says, but I know what he isn’t saying. He’s giving Greg’s friend a chance because of me. Up until this moment, I never really thought of myself as having connections.

Greg calls his friend who says he will be there right away. I could hear his excitement through the phone about the prospect of a new job.

“Wow, I’m excited to meet my other new best friend,” Christina says clapping her hands and grinning widely.

I roll my eyes at her words. I guess these guys really are going to be our best friends. With Christina, I have learned to just roll with a lot of things. “He’s going to love you girls,” Greg says with a smile.
