Addison’s heart raced as she took a deep breath and squeezed his hand. She looked into his handsome face and mustered up the courage to confess her feelings.

“I love you,” she blurted out. Before he could respond, she shook her head. “You don’t have to say anything. I just wanted you to know, and if it makes you uncomfortable, I’ll understand.”

“Really?” he asked.

“Yes.” She nodded, bracing herself for possible rejection as her heart pounded in her chest.

“It has been nearly a month since we started seeing each other. I believe that’s long enough,” he said softly.

“Long enough for what?” She furrowed her brow.

“For falling in love.” He gently held her face in his hands, pressed his lips to hers, and then gazed into her eyes. “I love you too.”

“You do?”

“Yes, I have for quite some time now. I didn’t want to push you into anything.”

Addison’s eyes widened as a tear rolled down her cheek.

“I’m so happy you feel the same way.” She leaned in and kissed his lips.

Cody leaned back in his seat with a grin on his face. “We should probably go inside before they think we’re not coming.”

“Okay.”

He opened his door, stepped out, walked around to her side and opened the door for her. As they walked toward the restaurant, he took her hand and led her inside.

After informing the hostess that they were meeting someone, they were shown to where Gray and Vivian were sitting. Gray stood up and greeted Cody with a handshake before hugging Addison. Cody hugged his sister, and then the two women embraced. Once everyone was seated, they looked over their menus.

“It’s always tough to choose,” Vivian murmured.

“I had the seafood platter last time, so I think I’ll go for a steak this time.” Cody nodded as he looked over the menu.

“The ribeye is definitely the best choice,” Gray chimed in, placing his menu on the table.

“So, have you already made your decision?” Vivian asked Gray.

He chuckled. “Sweetheart, I made my decision as soon as we decided on this restaurant.”

As they enjoyed their meal, Addison laughed until her cheeks hurt. Gray had a great sense of humor and loved teasing Vivian.

As Addison cut into her T-bone, she asked the couple, “How did you two first meet?”

Vivian chuckled and replied, “I accidentally dropped my towel when I was staying in Gray’s cabin. He didn’t know I was there.”

Gray shook his head and added, “My sister, Dani, thought it was okay to let her stay without asking me.”

Confused, Addison asked, “What cabin?”

Gray explained that he had a small cabin on his property that he lived in while building his home. One snowy night, he couldn’t make it down the hill, so he decided to stay at the cabin. But when he arrived, he saw lights on and smoke coming from the chimney.

“I drew my weapon and slowly entered. When I reached the living room, I saw this beautiful woman walking toward me. She was rubbing her hair with a towel, and another was wrapped around her. When I whistled, she came to a halt, looked at my gun, and tossed the towel from her hand, and jumped back.” Gray grinned. “When she did that, the towel wrapped around her fell to the floor and she was as naked as the day she was born.”

Cody laughed. “Sis, you didn’t even know him.”

“Oh please, I can take care of myself. I hit him over the head with a flower vase when he bent down to pick up my towel.” Vivian grinned.

This unexpected revelation caused Addison to almost spit out her drink. She quickly covered her mouth and swallowed before bursting into laughter along with everyone else.
