I turned to see Ryan walking down the hall in tactical gear. He looked like one of us, wore his hair like us, and even had guns strapped to his thighs.

“Ryan?”

“Yeah,” he said, looking around. “Would I be someone else?”

I poked at his face, thinking he might change into someone else. “It’s really you.”

He swatted at my hand, chuckling uncomfortably. “Okay, you’re starting to act a little weird.”

“This can’t be,” I stared at the ground. Looking back up at him, I narrowed my eyes. “Who’s the owner of Reed Security?”

“Of what?”

“Reed Security.”

“Never heard of it.”

“How is that possible? We’re standing in the Reed Security building right now.”

He barked out a laugh, clapping me on the shoulder. “Right, good one. This is Jackson Security Agency. You know that. You helped me pick out the name.”

“I did?”

He laughed again, looking at me strangely. “Are you trying to pull my leg or something? Is this payback for the time I gave Caitlin the sex talk?”

“You did what?” I shouted.

“Yeah, you remember? You called me over, wanting someone to help give Caitlin the sex talk.”

“No, I gave James the sex talk.”

He tossed his head back and laughed. “Right. That kid has been having sex since he was fifteen. Hell, he gave me pointers.”

I cringed, not wanting to think about that. “Where is he now?”

“He’s a SEAL. You know that.”

“I don’t know anything right now,” I murmured.

“Hey, I have to get back to work. We’ve got a big job coming up, but let’s do lunch sometime.”

“What about poker night?” I asked as he walked away.

“Uh…sure. I suppose we could set something up. You don’t like bowling anymore?”

He waved and then was gone. I turned to the guys, my fingers strangling my hair. “What the fuck is happening?”

“No kidding,” Sinner snorted. “Who goes bowling?”

I glared at him, but he just shrugged. “I’m just saying. At least we went with Go Fish. You sound boring in this life.”

Sighing, I stomped over to the elevator and pressed my hand to the scanner, but nothing happened.

“Need some help there?” Knight stood from behind the desk wearing a white button-down with a red and green striped tie.

“Knight?”

He quirked an eyebrow at us. “I prefer Hudson.”
