She licked her lips and shook her head even as she pressed into him. “It’s not long enough. I’ll be late.”

I moved behind her and tugged her panties to the side. “We’ll get you there on time. Scout’s honor.”

She pressed her hips into me. “Were you a scout?”

I thrust deep into her. “Nope.”

CHAPTER 21

Violet

I made it to work at exactly nine o’clock. I was still flushed and sure everyone would be able to take one look at me and see I’d been fucked multiple times that morning. The first few tables I waited on got a very awkward waitress, that much was sure. After no one called me out right away, I slipped into my normal routine and relaxed.

Joanie came in right before lunch, though, and stopped dead in her tracks when she looked at me. Her eyes widened and she slapped her hand over mouth before grabbing me and dragging me into her office.

I stumbled along, checking my face as I went, horrified to think I had something there and no one had mentioned anything. Or something worse. “What is it?”

Joanie closed her office door and whisper-screamed at me. “You had sex with them, didn’t you?!”

I gasped and slapped her hands. “What? Shut up! Why would you say that?”

She slapped mine back. “Holy shit. Margaret is going to be insufferable. She’s going to think she’s the town’s matchmaker now. I shouldn’t be so happy for you. Not when this is going to make my life harder.”

I groaned and tried to straight my messy bun. “We don’t have to tell her.”

“Oh, she’s going to take one look at you and know. You’ve got a neon sign over your head, telling everyone you just got fucked.” She giggled. “And you’re walking like you’ve been riding horses. Has no one else noticed?”

Shaking my head, I flopped into her chair. “No one said anything! Do you think they all knew? Oh, god, Joanie. I have to leave town. This is humiliating.”

She snorted. “The hell you’re leaving town. You’re stuck here with us now. So what if people know you’re having sex?”

“With three men?!” I pouted. “Joanie, they’re going to judge me!”

She flat out laughed in my face. Throwing her head back, she cackled and even pointed at me. “Sorry! Sorry. It’s just… No one here is going to judge you for that. Haven’t you noticed the number of women to men, Vi? This area has been known for unconventional relationships since it was founded. Haven’t you met Gina Davies? She’s married to four men. Marly Hill? Married to two men. There are several others. This isn’t that kind of place, Vi.”

I was shocked silent for a moment. “Really?”

She nodded. “Yes! Women have been juggling men here for decades. If anything, some of the women will be jealous as hell that you got those three.”

I cleared my throat and sat up straighter. “I don’t know if I got them.”

“Judging by the way you’re walking? You got them, girl.” She grinned even wider. “Those three men are already making it known you’re theirs. If the bite marks showing on the back of your neck aren’t clue enough, they’ve growled at every single man who mentions you. Or so I hear.”

My heart thudded in my chest. “Did you say bite marks?”

She laughed but tried to turn it into a cough when she saw my expression. “No one shorter than you will be able to see them. That’s good news. Right?”

“I’m going to murder them. I asked them if there was anything like that showing before they dropped me off this morning. They swore there wasn’t.”

“Yeah, well, they lied.” She motioned for me to get out of her seat. “In case Chase storms in here, I should actually look like I’m working right now.”

“You own the place. What’s it matter?” I tried to look at the back of my neck in the small mirror hanging by the door. I couldn’t see a thing.

“He’s part owner. He was more of a silent partner for the first couple of years, but apparently he’s not happy to be silent anymore.” She grimaced. “He complains about something I do at least five times a day.”

I frowned. “Tell him to kiss your ass. You’re amazing. You’ve been running this place just fine without him and—”

The door behind me opened and bumped me into a stumbling step forward. Chase kept his glare on Joanie while speaking to me. “You’ve got tables out here waiting to be served.”
