“As enticing as that sounds, I’m not moving, but I do miss you,” Niyomi picked up the phone, and walked out of her bathroom.

“Fine, how about a weekend visit? I need a girl's night bad.”

“I’m down for that,” Denim agreed.

“Just don’t get pissy drunk this time,” Niyomi chimed in, still scarred from our night out in DuPont Falls.

“Girl, please. Lo would still be mourning Marcel’s wack ass if it weren't for me. She wouldn’t be married to a fine-ass rich nigga, and most importantly, there would be no Serenity Raye. I’m still waiting on my thank you.”

“I’m not thanking you. That one night of pleasure stressed me the fuck out.”

“It paid off, didn’t it?” Denim maintained.

It did in more ways than one. Somehow the thing I resisted had become everything I needed. Gianni was a magician, and not just in the bedroom. It was the scariest, most exhilarating feeling.

Gi was still out of the office, leaving us to divide his tasks. Tyson was still in his bag about Gi giving Sonny an extension, so I volunteered to pick up the money to keep the peace. We were at the office counting everything up, and I couldn’t help but notice Kyerra’s name pop up on his phone more than once.

I planned on checking him about bringing her to my party, but between Hailo going into labor and shit falling apart with Sky, it slipped my mind until now.

“Are you fuckin’ Kyerra?” I asked, getting straight to the point.

“What made you ask that?” Tyson didn’t look up from the bills he was sifting through his fingers.

“Nigga you brought her to my party, and she’s been blowing you up since we got here.” Tyson’s foolish expression caused me to shake my head. “That’s some goofy ass shit.”

“What?”

“My response ain’t changing because you’re my cousin. That’s goofy as fuck, and you know it.”

“Here you go. Always taking his side.”

“It ain’t about sides. It’s about principle. That’s your blood. Your brother and you’re fucking his ex. The ex he would still be with if Lo didn’t get pregnant. The epitome of goofy, but do you.”

“Fuck you.”

“Pull that shit with me, and I’m not taking the high road like Gi. I’m whooping your ass,” I warned, just in case he ever got the idea.

“You have to have a lady first,” Tyson joked, trying to ease his guilt.

“When I get one, I won’t bring her ass around you. That’s for sure.”

Tyson sat the stack of money on the table and sighed deeply. “Ky and I were fucking around before she got with Gi.”

“What?” Tyson remained quiet, likely regretting he’d even said that much, but it was too late, “Don’t get quiet now.”

“Kyerra and I were together, then I left. She didn’t know if or when I was coming back. Then she got with Gi.”

“But you did come back, and you sat in Gi’s face knowing you fucked his bitch and didn’t say anything. You hear how crazy that shit sounds?”

“I don’t need this shit.”

“You do. That’s the problem. Everybody tiptoes around your shit instead of telling you what it is, but I’m not. You fucked up, Ty.”

Tyson erupted from his seat, causing it to hit the floor. His tantrum didn’t move me, or him standing with his fist clenched, seething. Tyson struggled with accountability. He always had a justification for the fucked-up shit he did.

I didn’t have whooping Tyson’s ass on the agenda today, but I wasn’t opposed to it. He needed the truth, and I wasn’t about to tap dance around it, “Since I’ve already started ripping the band-aide off, I might as well finish. You need to leave that bitch alone.” I was finished here- with work and this dumbass conversation. “You fucked up, so you need to own it and make this shit right with Gi. He’s your brother. Your blood and the walls of Kyerra’s pussy ain’t thicker than that. I’m out.”

He finally calmed down enough to reclaim his seat as I walked out of the door. I had some stuff to drop off to Gianni since he was working from home. Whatever Kyerra had between her legs needed to be banned. This was fucked up even for Tyson, and he knew it. That’s why he was in his feelings before I left, but I wasn’t about to pacify a grown-ass man, especially when I had my shit to deal with.
