“Where are you going?”

“Home,” Solana replied, stepping into her pants.

“I thought you were home.” I walked up behind her and wrapped my arms around her midriff.

“You know what I mean.”

“Stay put. I’ll be home when I can.”

“Are you sure?”

“Positive. Don’t worry about Morgan. I got him.”

Solana sighed and finally paused, getting dressed. Turning around, she stared into my eyes before cupping my face.

“Be safe, Quest.”

“I got you. Keep that phone on, and don’t answer the door for anybody.”

“I know the drill.”

“Good.” I kissed her forehead, quickly dressed, and met Morgan downstairs.

I was barely in the car before he mashed the gas and peeled off, increasing the volume. I ignored his tantrum until we were almost at the casino and realized he had yet to explain what happened.

“I need you to wrap up this tantrum and tell me what the fuck happened.”

Morgan delivered a sideways glare.

“I hope fucking that bi—.” He bit back the profane name he wanted to use and corrected himself, “Girl, is all a part of your plan.”

“What plan, Morgan?”

“The one where all this shit makes sense.”

He always had a way of worrying about the wrong shit. The casino was hit, and we’d have to answer for that while he was still stuck on me fucking Solana.

“What happened at the casino?” I asked.

“Some nigga’s stormed in through the service entrance, disabled the cameras, and emptied the cash vault.”

My eyes widened, a mixture of shock and anger crossing my face. "How did they manage to get past our security? We invested too much in ensuring this place was safe for this shit to happen.”

“Well, it happened, and they were good. Professionals, maybe,” Morgan explained.

“How much did they get away with?” I asked.

Morgan’s head turned and delivered a worse look than him tossing out a number before continuing, "They might’ve had an inside man. They knew where to find the vault and the most vulnerable points to exploit. They were in and out within minutes with a lot of fuckin’ money.”

“Fuck!” I yelled, thrusting my fist into the dashboard.

“Fuck is right because, by the morning, your in-laws are going to be on our ass,” Morgan replied, pointing out the obvious.

I was distracted from replying to his stupid ass by a text from Bella. When I finally checked my phone before we left, I had five missed calls and two texts.

Bella: Call me ASAP. It’s important. Please Quest.

Toggling with my phone, something about this text felt urgent. Important. So, I decided to give Bella one shot. We arrived at the casino, and I sent Morgan ahead to lock down the building. Nobody was in or out because if there were an inside man, I would find him.
