“Fuck.” Moving my wrist, I was tied to a chair in some murky room with a fucked up light bulb flickering on its last leg. The blood dripping from my forehead had run into my eyes, causing my vision to blur slightly.

Solana is waiting for me.

Niggas liked to go after the people you cared about most, and outside of my family, Solana was next in line. I could handle my own, but Solana wasn’t built like I was.

I couldn’t see much, but I could hear footsteps nearing, but it wasn’t just two. It was multiple.

“I expected some shit like this from Morgan, but I thought you were smarter.” Focusing on the person in front of me, a confident smirk spread across my face, and I relaxed a little, knowing that Solana wasn’t in danger.

“What shit are we talking about? Me fucking your sister,” I said for no other reason than to piss him off.

My comment did exactly what it intended, forcing Tyson to punch me in the jaw. My ears were ringing from the sting, but I had been hit harder by worse. It was only Tyson and Gianni tonight, and I wondered why Mack was absent. The three of them never moved without the other, but tonight, they were one person short.

“Is she really worth dying for?” Tyson asked, inching closer to me. I loved the fuck out of Solana, but I wasn’t about to beg any nigga for shit, especially not them.

“Well, you’ve never felt her like I ha—.” Punching me again, this time drawing blood, I leaned my head to the side, spitting the mixture of saliva and blood on the concrete floor.

“Now isn’t the time to get cute. What the fuck are you doing with Solana?” Gianni asked, but I picked up on the good cop, bad cop routine.

“What the fuck do you do with your wife?” I retorted.

“What the fuck did you say?” Gianni asked, charging toward me.

“You think this shit is a fuckin’ game!” Tyson yelled, grabbing my face.

“This shit is quite comical. You had to snatch me like a bitch instead of coming to me man to man.”

“Man to man?” Tyson chuckled, taking a step back. “But you’re playing games with my sister for what? Revenge.”

Optics could make it look that way, but he was so far off the mark that it made me laugh. Nothing about Solana and I had shit to do with revenge, but if he didn’t let me go soon, it would.

“We don’t have all night, but you do. Sit here until you figure out the answer.” Tyson said, turning to leave.

“If he tries anything, blow his fuckin’ head off,” Gianni instructed one of the three goons he had assigned to watch me.

In the meantime, I could sit here in peace, knowing Solana was safe and her family was pissed off.

Chapter Twenty-One

Hailo was right. No more secrets, so I had to be honest with Sky about why I was still deep in my shell. It had nothing to do with Sky and everything to do with Marcus still breathing. Knowing he would pick up Cam today didn’t settle that feeling either. So, I got up early this morning and made breakfast for my favorite girls.

Tyson: Emergency. Need you at the farm asap.

Me: I’m in the middle of something. I’ll be there when I can.

Gi: In the middle of what?

Me: My fuckin’ business.

Tyson: Now isn’t the time, Mack. Shit is urgent.

After I finished, I went upstairs to get Skylar and deliver her tulips.

“What is this?” Sky asked, trying to hide the smile on her face.

“Have I been slacking that much that you don’t know what flowers are anymore?”

Sky’s hands rested on her hips as she finally smiled, “Do you really want me to answer that?”
