"Suck it up, Skylar," I mutter before flicking on the bathroom light. A small gasp escapes me as I look at myself. My eyes are sunken in and I have large circles under my eyes. It's going to take a ton of makeup to hide these circles if I even can completely.

Thank god, Valentina was thinking ahead. Opening my makeup bag on the counter I see that she added some new makeup and specific concealers to help with circles. She is my miracle worker I swear! I wonder if Knox will let me keep her on my team after this whole ordeal. Fuck, I have no idea what I'm going to do now. I love my job at Rockport and I don't want to give that up, but I also love Damned Embers. I just can't help but feel like I can't have both. It doesn't make sense, I just don't know how to choose between the two.

"Sky!" Gunner calls out right after I hear the door to the room open. "We need to go, Demon Queen, where are you at?" He follows the light until he finds me in the bathroom putting the finishing touches on my makeup.

"Sorry, almost done," I answer as I finish my mascara. I thought about foregoing doing all my makeup and just using some cover-up but I decided I needed the extra courage make-up brings me. It's a shield, one I know that I'm going to need for this afternoon with everything.

"Fuck, Sky," he groans looking at me as he relaxes against the doorjam. "You are drop-dead fucking gorgeous and I'm so glad that you’re mine."

"What you aren't going to comment about the shirt?" I inquire, catching his eyes in the mirror. "That little black thing on the bed is most certainly not for me with the lingerie you set out for me."

"What little black thing?" his eyes flash as he turns to look at the bed and back to me. "Gah damnit that fucker," he growls. "I did not pick that out for you. I found a simple black skull T-shirt for you to wear. I was trying to stick to comfy and baggy clothes for you today."

"I figured," I laugh, turning to face him. "You know me well enough to know that I wasn't comfortable in something like that. That narrows it down to Sebastian since Creed was in bed with me and most certainly didn't have time to get here and find a shirt for me to wear."

"I should have known he was up to something when he told me to come wake you. That asshole. Sorry, Sky," he grasps my hand pulling me out of the room. "I have to say your choice of shirt is much better than what I had originally chosen."

"Good," I smile, following him down the hall. We reach the living room where Creed and Sebastian are waiting not so patiently if their pacing is anything to go by. "Are we ready?" I call out when they come into view completely.

"Let's go," Sebastian grunts, his eyes darkening with lust before he looks away and marches to the door.

Well, I guess that didn't go as planned. Damnit. Sebastian one, Sky zero.

"You were serious?" I question, turning to look at Gunner with big eyes as our Suburban comes to a stop outside Unchained Records. It was a two-hour drive here which I would have complained more about if it wasn't for Creed distracting me the whole ride. Not sexually, though I wished it had been.

"We need to deal with this. You are a part of Damned Embers, and I'm not letting you out of my sight," Sebastian grunts before turning off the SUV and coming around to open the back door for me. "You are safe with me. I'm done with this, and I'm handling it. Trust me, please." His voice breaks at the end but still sounds extremely demanding.

"Okay," I answer, knowing I don't have a choice in this. I'm curious to see what's about to happen during the meeting, I won't lie.

Following my guys inside, they don't bother stopping at the front desk to greet the lady. They just shove right past, skipping security, and head straight for the elevators in the center of the lobby. I give a small smile to the front desk lady before the guys lead me into an elevator.

It was a long and silent elevator ride. "You stay by my side," Bas demands as the elevator comes to a stop on the top floor. I knew better than to argue. This is what he needs, and even though we have a lot to work on, I can give this to him. William can be his fight. Mine is still coming when I have to face Alexandra in court.

"I'm sorry, boys, but the boss is busy right now. If you want to make an appoint—" the secretary is cut off as we walk past her, and Gunner pushes the doors to Williams's office open. The petite young woman rushes in behind us bursting with apologies for our intrusion.

"It's fine, Amber," William growls, wavering her off. "How can I help you all today? It's nice to see you again, Skylar, or is it Sky now?"

His eyes linger just a little too long on me before Sebastian growls and pulls his attention away from me. I catch him glancing at me every once in a while, but it's clear he knows who the threat in the room is right now. William places his feet up on the edge of his desk and leans back in his chair as he waits for us to begin. It's a power move, one that doesn't mean shit to any of us since we know just how despicable of a human being he is.

"We're done, William," Bas demands, his hand tightening his hold on me. "Damned Embers no longer has a contract with Unchained Records. Our lawyers are sending over the paperwork, and it should be in your mailbox momentarily."

Well, fuck. I didn't realize he worked that fast.

I should have known he'd have his lawyers drawing up the paperwork immediately, though I honestly still would have thought it would have taken longer than it did.

I'm glad the guys will be free after this; they deserve to play the music they want and be the band they were always meant to be.

Unchained Records was always a stepping stone for them, and I am so fucking proud of them for doing this, even if it's only because of me.

"I'm sorry, what?" William snarls, jumping to his feet. "No! Your contact is clear. You and your music belong to Unchained Records for another five years. I'm not done with you all yet."

"That's not how this works," Creed calls out, moving to the other side of me.

"You broke your contact," Bas growls, taking control once more. "In the contract, it says that no one will ever harm or threaten my wife in any shape or form."

"Your wife?" William chuckles. "You aren't married."
