“No,” she said.

“That’s right. Hux has just picked up on some of the tension between us,” Jack told her.

Was it that obvious?

“Are you sure you’re feeling all right?” Ian asked. “You should rest tomorrow.”

“I’ll be fine. I just fucked the two of you on a sun lounger, nothing too strenuous.”

Lord, please don’t blush.

She was full of false bravado.

Ian frowned while Jack grinned.

“We must be doing it wrong if it wasn’t too strenuous,” Jack drawled.

“Hmm, seems we’ll have to try harder,” Ian added.

Yikes.

“I still think you need an early night,” Ian told her. “I’ll make burgers. No, wait, you need something healthier. Salads.”

“You can’t promise burgers and then switch to salads,” she told him. “That’s just mean.”

“Jameson said we’re not feeding you properly. You need vegetables and lean protein.”

“Yeah, but Jameson isn’t here. We are. So we can do what we want.” She grinned at him.

He plopped some bubbles from the bath on her nose. “You think you’re going to get your way by smiling at me sweetly?”

“Well, I was hoping.”

Ian got that look on his face. The one that said he was about to start a lecture.

Oh, goody.

“Maybe we could have a burger with a salad on the side,” Jack suggested.

“Please, Ian.” She gave him puppy dog eyes.

“I suppose that’s acceptable. If you eat your salad.”

“I will! I’ll take three whole bites.” That was a lot. Right?

Ian raised an eyebrow. “Three whole bites, Little girl?”

She mimed three big bites, then she giggled.

Oops. Her Little was out in full force. Probably the bubble bath.

“I love bubble baths.”

“Do you?” Ian murmured. “You look cute as a button.”

“Cute as a button?” Jack repeated. “I’ve never heard you say something like that.”

Ian went red.
