“Thank you, Noemi,” Vincent said, with a small smile like he was teasing me.

Desire pooled in my stomach. I didn’t know what it was about him, but I was willing to do anything he wanted.

“Great, Adrian should be back before I leave,” I said, walking out.

Heading into the kitchen, I dropped off the tray, and sat down at the table to finish work. I needed to get out of here before, by some chance, I was alone with that man. This job was exactly what I needed; I couldn’t afford to fuck it up. I finished organizing the rest of the files just as Adrian returned. I recapped and gave him all the work I had done.

“Wow, I didn’t expect you to finish everything,” he said, looking impressed.

“Oh, well, once I got into the groove, everything came easy,” I said, getting up from my chair. “Oh, and I didn’t know what kind of menu needed to be planned, but I work for a catering company if they need someone to handle food for them. If not, I can plan something tomorrow if I know how many people are coming and what kind of food they prefer.

“They might want to have it catered. Lola is pregnant and I know cooking has been hard for her,” he said, thoughtfully. “I’ll ask Lincoln and see what he says.”

“Great. Well, if you don’t need me for anything else, I’ll get going,” I said, putting things away in a box.

“Nope, good job,” he said, looking over the paper he was reading.

“Great, I’ll see you tomorrow,” I said, walking to grab my things before hitting the call button for the elevator.

Lincoln’s voice sounded close as the elevator finally arrived. I jumped in while pressing the button repeatedly to close the door to the elevator, trying to hurry. The door started to close as they rounded the corner but before either of them looked my way, it had already closed and was heading down to the first floor.

My heart was racing as I leaned against the wall, wondering why the hell I had such a visceral response to that man. It wasn’t just him either, Easton had been invading my mind, making me wonder what was going on.

My phone buzzed in my purse, interrupting my thoughts. I opened my bag, hoping it wasn’t Adrian telling me to come back. When I saw Cheryl’s name, I immediately answered.

“Hey,” I said, as the door opened.

“Noemi, I need the biggest favor and I’ll pay you double if you can come in tomorrow night for a private event.”

“What time?” I said, not even giving her a chance to butter me up more.

I needed the money and anything to distract me from the two men I had met in the last twenty-four hours.

EASTON

Iwasn’t surprised when the devastatingly gorgeous woman didn’t show the following evening. Sitting at the bar, I nursed a drink for about an hour, imagining all the dirty things I could do to her. Finally, I decided to call it quits, even though every part of me told me to stay longer.

It had been a while since I had had a woman reject me not once, but twice. I spent the night alone, waking up to a raging boner that I blamed on the dream I had of her bent over. She was crying out my name as I buried myself over and over in her tight cunt.

“Earth to Easton!”

I was brought out of my thoughts by my sister waving her hands in front of my face.

“Sorry,” I mumbled.

“Where did you go?” She looked concerned.

“Just thinking about the gala I’ll have to attend in a few weeks and dreading the people I will have to socialize with,” I said, grabbing my cup of coffee. “I’ll have to schmooze investors and I’m not happy about it.”

She stared at me for a moment like she didn’t believe me. I wouldn’t have believed that excuse either, but I had dug my hole and now I had to sit in it.

“Uh huh.” She sipped her own cup of coffee. “What’s got you daydreaming?”

“Life,” I said, looking away. “You know, the usual.”

“Did they reach out?” She looked worried.
