My heart skips a beat.

“Do you… do you remember what you said last night?” I say, my eyes shifting over to the other seats. Neither Morgan or Johans are paying us any attention. “Or were you drunk?”

He frowns. “Drunk? I don’t get drunk.”

I take a steady breath. “So you meant it?”

He brushes his fingers over mine behind his water glass. “I mean everything I say.”

Oh, god. Khristian Petrov loves me. He fucking loves me…

He gives me a chin lift. “Did you mean it?”

I flick my eyes back to his. “Every word.”

His lips twitch once more. “I’m hard for you.”

“We can’t,” I say through gritted teeth.

“Next time I fuck you, my little rose, you will be screaming those words at me or I won’t let you come.”

Oh, lord.

“I can hardly wait.” I smile, pressing my thighs together.

I don’t know what I ever did to earn this man's love, or what that even means for us now. Are we dating? Is he going to keep me on in the company?

Breathe, Imogen. You’ll figure it out.

My new mantra is to not worry anymore. To take life as it comes. To not be so serious and enjoy the little things. I’m getting better at it every day.

One thing is for sure; I owe my two best friends big time.

“Oh my god!” Charlize squeals as we embrace.

“Charli! I’ve missed you so much!”

She hugs me with all her might, then steps back to look at me. “Oh, holy heck. You have this glow about you that just screams ‘I’m getting railed every day.’ Probably three times a day, right?”

“I wouldn’t say three times a day,” I laugh. “Four or five, maybe?”

She snorts. “You horn dog.” She links her arm through mine. “I want to hear all about Mr. Petrov and his huge schlong over lunch.”

“I’ve missed your dirty mouth,” I tell her.

She peers over my shoulder. “Is this our car?”

“Yes. And we can go wherever we want. Khristian gave me his Amex.”

“Oh god. You’re getting anal, aren't you?”

I sputter as I glance around to see if anyone heard. “No!” I say indignantly.

She winks. “It’s okay. Your secrets are safe with me. I think we need to head to Mayfair if we’re planning on burning any kind of hole in that credit card.”

I laugh as I open the car door, my heart happy at seeing my best friend after so long.

“Mayfair it is,” I tell the driver, settling into the seat.
