Aurora’s mouth dropped open and she turned back to Dante. “You… how?”

Dante shrugged before saying in his best Marlon Brando impression, “I made them an offer they couldn’t refuse.”

“Really?”

“Well… in the sense that the Dean couldn’t refuse a big donation to the school, yes.”

She rolled her eyes before turning her attention back to her friends. Jackie had taken the phone back. “Looks like you’ve got yourself a new Godfather. A much hotter one.”

“More like God-daddy,” Missy said off in the distance, and Aurora saw Dante smirk.

“Anyway, we’ll see you two when you get here,” Jackie said. “We already found a pizza place a block away that’s amazing.”

“Is it deep dish?” Dante interjected.

“No.”

“Then it won’t be amazing.”

“Ignore him. He’s just pretending to be grumpy. Can’t wait to see you both!” Aurora said before ending the call.

Handing the phone back to Dante, she immediately kissed him hard.

“Have I told you I love you lately?” she asked.

“You have, but I never tire of hearing it,” Dante said, reaching to brush a lock of hair over her shoulder. “I hope your friends know that we won’t be seeing them for pizza tonight. I have other plans for you.”

“I’m sure they can wait,” Aurora said with a sly grin.

The rest of the flight passed quickly and smoothly, and before long they had landed on a private tarmac and transferred to a limo. Soon they were driving through a beautifully manicured neighborhood, with tree-lined streets and early 20th century homes.

Aurora couldn’t help but have a flashback to the first time they’d been in a limo together, driving up to the stunning villa in Milan. She had felt much differently about Dante then, though the same animalistic attraction to him was still there. She just hadn’t wanted to admit it at the time.

The car rolled to a stop in front of what she assumed was their new home—for the next four years, at least.

The bungalow style townhouse sat on a well-manicured lot with a lush, green lawn bordered by vibrant flower beds. There was a path through the garden made of weathered stone, and it led to a cozy front porch adorned with hanging plants and a couple of comfortable chairs.

“What do you think? It’s already furnished, too. And campus is just a few blocks away.” She heard Dante’s voice beside her, but she couldn’t peel her eyes away from the little house.

“It’s perfect,” she said.

The driver opened the door for Aurora, and she was about to sprint up the path to the door when she felt Dante’s hand on her shoulder.

“Not so fast, my impatient little bride,” he said before he produced a long piece of cloth from his pocket. Reaching around her, he secured the cloth over her eyes and tied it behind her head.

“Aw, Dante! Not this blindfold thing again,” Aurora said with a pout, and she heard her husband chuckle.

“It won’t be for long this time. I just want some of our new home to be a surprise.”

“Don’t you think I’ve had enough surprises for one day?” she asked.

“Oh, babygirl,” Dante said, sweeping her off her feet and carrying her through the door to their house. “I’ll never stop surprising you.”

Aurora didn’t have any trouble believing that.

WTF? Isn’t he a doctor? Isn’t this a Parker Fox book? Where the hell was the medical play?
