"Not great," he admits.

"Is that because of the couch or because you were tossing and turning over how you felt about having a foursome?"

He sighs. I'm not sure if it's in resignation because he knew we were going to broach the topic immediately or if it's annoyance because he’d hoped we wouldn't.

I remind myself that he doesn't know me very well.

But he needs to.

"The second," he says.

"And was that just the general angst about liking it, or was it because two other guys were fucking your woman?"

He nods. "Both. Probably more the second."

I appreciate his honesty. "She's our woman, too," I say simply. "And that's what you're going to have to come to terms with."

He narrows his eyes. "I guess I thought maybe there was some discussion to be had there."

"Discussion between you and me? Or discussion between you and Luna?"

"Me and Luna," he says, meeting my gaze directly.

I appreciate that. Obviously, this is all about Luna and her choices. But I do feel like there are some things Owen needs to understand from my point of view.

"Coffee?" I ask him.

"Yeah. I'm gonna need it."

I pour him a cup and cross to set it in front of him. Then I pour myself one. "Cream or sugar?"

He shakes his head. “Black.”

I lift my own cup for a sip and give him a minute to figure out what he wants to say.

Finally, he takes a breath. "There's something you should know if we’re going to discuss what happened last night," Owen says.

"I thought you were going to talk to Luna," I say.

"I am. But I think you and Alexsei probably need to know what I'm going to say to her."

I shrug. "Okay."

"I'm in love with her," he says. “And I want something serious. Long-term. I'm ready to tell her that."

I take another sip and swallow. "Okay. How do you think that affects us?” I ask. It does. Obviously. But I'm not sure it affects us the way he thinks it does.

"You guys are great. And obviously she likes you a lot. Last night was pretty hot. And I'm very glad she had a good time. But, I want to pursue something serious with her.” He pauses. “Just her and me.”

Yeah, that was pretty much what I thought he was going to say. "And what are you gonna do when she says no?" I ask.

His jaw tightens. "I don't know that she will say no. We have a connection. I think she might be ready to be more serious than she realizes.”

I actually agree with him on that. Luna’s been so focused on her business that she’s told herself she doesn’t have room or time for anything else. But we’re proving her wrong. We’re showing her she can have it all. And I think she’s starting to not only believe that but want it.

But instead of that, I say, "But what if she does say no?"

"Then I'm okay with her dating you guys until she's ready to be serious."
