Page 110 of Snaring Emberly

“He won’t say shit.” I turn to the bound man and smirk. “Did you drop the charges against Miss Kay?”

He nods, his eyes streaming with tears.

“You caused us a whole lot of trouble with your theatrics,” I say.

He squeezes his eyes shut and moans. I think he’s finally understanding that he might not survive the night.

“What shall we do with him?” Emberly asks.

“This asshole forwarded your information to the police, practically hand delivering you to your ex. You have the rest of the journey to take out your anger on his ass.”

I lean back, mesmerized by the sight of Emberly unleashing her wrath upon the bound and gagged man. Her punches are ferocious, her nails cutting through his skin like talons. The sounds of her little fists connecting with his tender flesh is doing something interesting to my cock.

Every part of me wants to touch her as she continues to unleash her wild, violent need for retribution. Any other woman would be satisfied with having the criminal charges dropped, but with her teeth bared and her hair curling like serpents, Emberly is the goddess of vengeance.

When she draws away and shakes out her hand, I pull her back onto the seat.

“Does it hurt?” I ask.

“I’m not used to punching,” she replies through panting breaths. “And my fingers already ache from so much painting.”

“Want me to take over?”

She turns to me, her eyes bright. “Would you?”

“Watch me.”

Lafayette’s eyes widen and the noise he makes behind the gag is pitiful. I pummel him with short and fast punches, until his pale carcass is covered in bruises and his face is a bloody mess.

“Untie his gag,” Emberly says. “I want to hear him beg for mercy.”

“You really like revenge, don’t you?” I ask with a chuckle.

“Jim threatened to rape me in a police cell and kill me with an overdose. All because this scammer didn’t want me to report him on social media.”

Lip curling, I unbuckle the man’s gag and let it fall to the floor.

“Please,” Lafayette says, his words thick with agony. “I already got the charges dropped. What more do you want from me?”

“An apology?” Emberly asks.

“Yes.” He inhales a shuddering breath. “I’m so, so sorry. And I deeply regret writing you off.”

“You’re only sorry because I have a protective boyfriend,” she yells.

Boyfriend?

I must be more convincing than I thought. My chest swells with pride at the prospect of Emberly thinking of me as her anything. I’m just protecting my most precious investment—her capacity to continue signing contracts.

Lafayette curls into a ball and shudders.

I shake my head. This slimy bastard doesn’t even know how to grovel. I appreciate the hustle, don’t get me wrong. Maybe Emberly wouldn’t have fallen into my lap so easily without his machinations, but he still tried to hurt what’s mine.

“Where are the five paintings?” I ask.

“In my storeroom.” He rolls onto his side and trembles.

“What?” Emberly screeches. “You told me they were sold.”
