"Shoot."

I take a deep breath, gathering my courage. "I've been thinking about getting back into MMA, this time professionally. I have to give it a try, or I'll never forgive myself. Do you think it's a terrible idea?"

Grayson's expression shifts from surprise to concern, and I nibble on my lower lip, wondering what his response will be. I’m so worried he’ll tell me he doesn’t think I’m ready yet or that we’re too busy with the twins to take such a huge step. I won’t be able to tell him he’s not right, and there’s a big chance that my dream will die right here and now. It won’t change how much I love my family and how blessed I feel, but it will be accepting that I can’t have it all after all, and I need to move past that hope that I’ve kept alive all these years.

But then, a smile blossoms from the hesitation, and acceptance, perhaps even pride, replaces any other emotion reflected in his face.

"It's a big decision, but if you think you're ready, then I'm a hundred percent behind it. You've always had a fighter's spirit, Ty. I couldn't keep it down if I tried, and I have no intention of trying."

A wave of gratitude washes over me, knowing that I have a partner who not only believes in me but is willing to stand by me as I chase this dream. "Thank you, Gray. I love you."

"I love you too, Ty. I'll make a few calls and find a good trainer to help you turn this dream into a reality."

His words are filled with conviction and unwavering faith in me. I know that with his support, anything is possible.

“You know this gives you a whole lot of brownie points, don’t you?” I lean in, kissing him on the lips, a long, sensual kiss that lets him know exactly what I mean by it.

“Oh, I know, and trust me when I say I plan on cashing in tonight. Maybe we can get the sitter to keep an eye on the twins. We’ll go out to dinner, spend the night at a nice hotel, the whole nine yards.”

"I like the sound of that. It's been a while since we had some alone time."

Grayson pulls me closer, his lips curving into a mischievous smile, and he kisses me all over again, this time deeper, the promise of more, far more, lingering beneath his touch.

"Mommy, mommy!" Annie's voice beckons me from the kitchen, and I sigh, resting my forehead against Gray's.

"Duty calls."

"Daaaaad!" Owen calls. It was bound to happen. And though parenthood can be exhausting, I wouldn't change it for all the restful mornings in the world.

"It always does," he chuckles lightly, giving me a quick peck before we rise to our feet. He towers over me as we do, the gentle giant I’ve grown to adore and cherish, to look up to when I’m feeling down. “I still prefer it when they’re noisy, because when they’re being quiet, they’re always up to no good.”

“Oh, you know it. Our sweet little imps.” I giggle. Before walking away, I shoot him a little wink. "It's a date then. Just you and me, no kids allowed."

And so I make my way toward the kitchen. My life is chaos, but I don’t mind it – not when my children and husband are here to support me every step of the way.
