“So, why aren’t you running for the hills?”Nick pressed.

“Because I can’t.I don’t want to.Believe me, I’ve tried. She’s like a magnet.I’m so fucking drawn to her.Do you realize how perfect she’d be for us, if—”

“If she didn’t live in Kansas City and wasn’t going to look for a Dom when she gets home?”

Their entire conversation had me warring with a whole host of emotions…mainly hope.

With so many revelations being unearthed between them, I curled on my side and nuzzled my face against Nick’s chest.I feared my expressions might give me away.

“Savannah?”Dylan whispered.

I didn’t respond.Yes, eavesdropping was deceitful and wrong, and if they ever found out I was playing opossum, they’d probably edge me to death. But I knew their conversation wasn’t over, and I had to hear more.

“She’s out,” Nick whispered.“There’s nothing we can do, man. We’ll teach her as much as we can in what little time we have and pray she finds a good group back home where she can keep growing and learning.Maybe we can plan several trips to Kansas City and check in on her from time to time.”

“Are you crazy?”Dylan snarled.“I don’t want to show up at one of the clubs in Kansas City and watch her with some other Dom.Once she finds a group, the Doms are going to be lining up to slap a collar on her within the first five fucking minutes.”

“Listen to you, ‘Mister Don’t Tell Her How You Feel’,” Nick drawled.“Listen, I can’t even go there, bro.Her with another Dom makes me want to—”

“That’s the shit you have to stow away, man.”

“So do you.”

“Look, the last thing either of us wants to do is hurt her.But all that innocence just waiting to be tapped into is a fucking powerful thing.”

“It is.”Nick sighed.“We’ve got to be careful.I know.I know.”

My head spun. They had feelings for me far outside the realm of just teaching me.That powerful connection between the three of us wasn’t my imagination.Yet they weren’t going to act on their feelings. They were going to ignore the giant elephant in the room, and what?Think I wouldn’t notice?Men were so damn clueless.I didn’t want to join a local club and find a Dom, I wanted them.

“We have a few more days. We’ll go with the no strings, no promises route and enjoy her as long as we can before we say goodbye, all right?”Dylan asked in a flat tone void of emotion.

Nick issued a heavy sigh and brushed his fingers through my hair for several long, silent minutes.

“If that’s how it has to be, that’s how it’ll be.”

Their game plan was a lot like mine.Close off the heart and ignore the emotions. While it made sense for me, it didn’t for them. They were Doms. They were supposed to set the bar for open, honest communication.

People in glass houses.

I inwardly cursed the fact that all three of us were playing a stupid game of subterfuge.Still, I searched for a glimmer of gratitude. It wasn’t hard to find.If not for Dylan and Nick, I’d still be locked in BDSM dreamland, hopelessly wishing to experience all the desires they’d effortlessly given me.Yes, it would be easy to plop my ass down on the pity pot and wallow in despair for not being able to have a long-term relationship with them, but the harsh reality was… it simply wasn’t in the cards.

Dylan eased off the couch and returned a short time later. The smell of scotch wafted over my nose.Their conversation turned to work and the upcoming projects they’d bid on.Their voices held great passion as they talked about a community center for underprivileged youth scheduled to break ground in the spring. The big, bad Doms had a soft spot for children and those less fortunate. It was somewhere during their discussion of politics, City Hall, bureaucratic red tape and corruption that sleep pulled me under.Rousted awake, I discovered Nick carrying me back to my room as the fireplace glowed with dying embers.

“I’m sorry we have to do this to you, little one, but we need to get that plug out.”Nick lowered me to the cold sheets, then turned me onto my side.

I shivered when he pressed my knees to my chest.“We’ll get you warmed up in a minute, little one.Just take a deep breath, then let it out and push.”

I closed my eyes as Nick’s broad fingers gripped the wide base.Following his instructions, I exhaled and bore down.A whimper escaped my lips as the widest part slid free. Then, while Nick strolled off to the bathroom, Dylan climbed onto the bed and held me against his chest.

“We’re proud of how brave you’ve been with the plugs,” he praised, combing his fingers through my hair.

But not proud enough that I earned a way for you to keep me.

Shoving the cynical thought from my brain, Nick returned and washed my throbbing rim with a warm cloth.I was still shivering when he joined Dylan and me in bed, but quickly warmed when Nick pulled the blankets over us.I drank in their body heat while marveling at their steely bodies surrounding me.Too tired to continue wrangling my myriad of emotions, I closed my eyes and drifted to sleep.
