But before I can allow myself to bask in the bliss for a second longer, I can’t help but seek clarity in the uncertainty that remains.

“Does this mean you’ll come back?” I rest my lips against the top of her head before pulling back just enough to look down at her.

Now, she gently runs her hand along my face. “I’m coming home, Warren.”

A full grin spreads across my lips at her use of the wordhome. I can’t help but lift her into the air, prompting her to burst into giggles as her legs wrap around my waist. “I don’t think I’ve ever seen you this happy,” she teases, brushing her nose against mine.

“If you think I’m thrilled right now, the lads are going to lose it.”

“Really?” She laughs. “They’ve missed me?”

“Of course, they have,” I roll my eyes. “They were boycotting practice because of you. They were about ready to quit because of how much of an arse I was being.”

She throws her head back in laughter, making my heart swell at the sound of it before she securely plants her feet back into the ground. “You’ve always been a bit of an arse, Coach.” A wink escapes her sweet eyes. “But the fact that I’m in love with you, too, makes up for it.”

“Blue with green hues,or green with blue hues?” I intricately assess Warren’s eyes as I rest on top of his desk, blocking him from getting through any of his paperwork. I lean back on the palms of my hands, tilting my head in thought. “Now,thatis the question.”

He smirks, shooting me a devious stare before he grabs my waist, slides me off the desk, and firmly places me in his lap. “Beautiful and curious, or curious and beautiful?” He murmurs into my ear, nibbling against my skin gently, sending shivers down my spine. “Now,that…” He kisses down my neck, reaching my collarbone. “Is the question.”

This is how it’s been. For days on end. Finding silly excuses to get close to one another and stall our way back into reality.

We’d caught the first flight back to London as soon as I’d packed up my things. My parents hadn’t tried to stop me—and frankly, I’m not surprised. After my outburst at Thanksgiving, it’d become clear to them that I wouldn’t keep squeezing into the mold they’d created for me. I was starting my own journey—one that belonged in the place I was always meant to be my home, with the people who I’ll always call family.

Warren opted to keep our arrival back a secret, leaving ample opportunity for one-on-one time as we gear up for today.

The big day.

The day when we can finally stop hiding in the shadows and, for once, just be us.

“You’re stalling.” I lean my head back as Warren’s lips find their way to my chest, tugging away at the fabric with his teeth.

“And do you have a problem with that?” He looks up at me inquisitively—and that’s when I realize it.

It’s not blue with green hues or green with blue hues.

It’s sheer mischief in those eyes.

I’m in love.

He leans up and kisses my lips before I can respond, tugging on my bottom lip slightly.

“The boys are waiting.” It’s so hard to break away from his embrace. “I want to see them.”

“Oh, so I’m not enough?” He coyly remarks, though there's a hint of playfulness in his tone.

“You’ve had me all to yourself for days, Coach.” I push against his chest with a wink before hopping off his lap. “Now it’s time to share.”

“Fuck that.” He stands up, wrapping his arms around my waist from behind and pulling me back into him. “I’m not sharing. You’re all mine, Delaney.”

“And you can remind me of that later.” I turn around and plant a kiss on the tip of his nose, my hand brushing over the midriff of his trousers before I pull away and walk towards the door. “You coming?”

He sucks in a breath. “I will be tonight.”
