“She told me how your kindness brought her back to life, Drix, and it reminded me of all the times you’ve been kind to me and Toby, how you brought me back to life, and I knew at that moment that you were still the man I fell in love with. The violence you committed isn’t who you are, but a product of circumstance, of a deep-seated need to protect the people you love.”

"Thank you," I say. "For seeing me."

"Thank you, for loving me back to life, Drix," she replies, silently taking my hand as she steps into the bath, easing herself down into the water. I climb in too, switching off the taps as I face her.

"I vow to you, Lia, that I will continue to love you the way you deserve. That I will be the best dad to Toby," I say, cupping her face and pressing a sweet kiss against her lips.

"And I vow to always trust in us, in our friendship, and in our love," she replies, grabbing hold of the body wash and taking my hand in hers, squeezing some into my palm, before adding some to her own.

Adjusting her body she slides her legs over my hips, the most tender parts of us touching as she begins to wash my body. I follow her lead, washing her skin, the touch of her hands stirring desire deep within me. As we continue to bathe each other, the weight of our pasts begins to lift into the air like the steam surrounding us, replaced instead with the warmth of our love and the promise of a future together.

"I love you, Lia," I say, brushing my fingers through her damp hair, marvelling at the way she looks at me now.

"And I love you, Drix. So, so much," she replies as she presses her lips against mine in a gentle, heartfelt kiss.

The water laps against us, its gentle caress providing a soothing backdrop to our intimate exchange. Lia's broken rib and bruises are a reminder of the pain she has endured, but it hasn't dampened her spirit or her desire. Her trust in me is unwavering as she places her vulnerable body in my hands.

With utmost care, I begin to explore her form, my fingers gliding across her damp skin. I move slowly, mindful of her injuries, tracing a path of tantalising caresses along her curves. Every touch is imbued with tenderness and yearning, an unspoken promise to bring her release despite the limitations imposed by her healing body.

"Drix," Lia breathes, her eyelids fluttering shut as my fingers slide over her stomach and between her legs, finding her core and transforming pain into waves of ecstasy.

“Look at me, Lia,” I command softly.

Gazing into her eyes, I can see the flicker of both vulnerability and trust reflected back at me. She holds onto me tightly as sensations ripple through her body, giving herself over to the euphoria building within. In this moment, the throbbing pulse of pleasure merges with the profound love we share.

Lia's body responds eagerly to my touch, the beautiful sounds of her soft gasps and moans making my cock thicken. But this isn’t about my pleasure, this is about hers, and as each delicate stroke brings Lia closer to the pinnacle of bliss, it binds us together in a union forged through shared experiences, unwavering support, and the sacred act of finding solace within each other's embrace. In this moment of intimacy, we are both healers and healed. The fragility of Lia's broken rib, and the deep bruises scattered over her body are no match for the resilience of her spirit.

"Drix, I'm going to come," she whispers, teetering on the precipice of release.

Her body arches against mine, an exquisite surrender mirroring the connection between us as I wrap my lips around her nipple and suck on her tender flesh. And finally, as her body convulses with her orgasm, I hold her close knowing that no man will ever love her as fiercely as I do.

One week later.

“Mama, the snow is finally melting!” Toby exclaims as Daisy, Lia and I relax on the sofa in the living room. His face is pressed against the windowpane, soft puffs of air steaming up the glass as he stares out at the front drive.

“Is that so, buddy?” I ask, climbing to my feet as I head towards him.

"Yeah! Can we go outside and play before it goes for good?" he asks excitedly, turning to look up at me with big hopeful eyes.

I glance over to Lia and she grins. "I'll join you."

"Sure thing, buddy. Let's get our coats and boots on," I say with a smile.

Toby claps his hands together before running off to grab his coat from Lia, who is already standing by the front door waiting for him. We all pull on our coats and boots, and as Lia opens the front door, Toby grabs her hand pulling her outside.

As Lia and Toby's laughter fills the air around us, I turn to Daisy with a smile. "Daisy, you coming?" I ask, gesturing towards the door.

"Yeah, why not?" she replies, joining me at the door, slipping on her coat and shoes before resting her hand gently on my arm. My gaze falls to the engagement ring on her finger, a huge sparkling diamond set in a platinum ring. It’s ostentatious, and not at all Daisy.

"Drix," she says softly. “I’m so glad you found happiness. Lia and Toby are truly the best thing that has ever happened to you.”

“Hey, don’t forget to include yourself in that statement,” I reply with a gentle nudge of my arm.

“You know what I mean,” she replies, a smile tugging at my lips as I watch Toby throw a snowball at his mum, hitting her chest with a soft thud.

“Yeah, Daise, I do. I’m a lucky man…” My voice trails off as I take in the scene before me–the laughter, the love, the sense of family. Yet, deep down we both know that this has little to do with luck. It's because of her sacrifice that I am able to experience moments like these.

"And they're lucky to have you," she replies, nudging me back, her smile sincere. "It feels good to see them so happy."
